mate i to have had problems with a dealer with mine right hand rear wheel seal popped three times i too was given the run around till i took it to a higher person .The second time was when i took it to the same dealer about a ticking noise in the motor and was told its normal for a diesel to tick and two days later it was towed back and had the motor replaced i to will never trust a dealer as long as i lve

Took the wifes hilux in for its 30kthe other day(first time I have paid for labour on a car in a loong time) and asked them to report on the lsd which is not working. I got the invoice back saying there was no fault codes to indicate a fault and it drove ok, then looked at me funny when I asked them to fire the bloke looking for the fault codes in the back diff

I'm hearing ya mate I gave up on taking my lux to the dealer a while back when they tried to tell me nothing can go wrong with the auto tranny oil as it is sealed it lasts for ever. Have since been put onto an awesome mechanic that gets all my work $u(k Toyota and there warranty

How do the dealers feel about diesel chips and exhausts?


If a chip is removed for every service so as not to void warranty in anyway because we know dealers will point there finger at whatever they can.
Is it possible for the dealership to know the car has had a chip in it?

There are some chips that leave a code in the ecu, but I will not be naming them

According to the roo systems ad it doesn't void warranty.

Fault code for LSD?! I've heard it all now!!

My dad has a 2008 hilux 3.0td and he took it to Toyota for its 200,000km service looking through wat they did I noticed a couple of things like
changed brake fluid and check clutch fluid(pretty sure brake and clutch fluid come out of the same reservoir)
the major thing I notice they said they check the tappets. I then looked under the bonnet they hadn't pulled the cover off. just incase I was wrong I pulled the plastic cover off fine dust all over the engine and no finger prints or evidence that the tappet cover had been taken off. my dad took it back and all they said (the way they check the valve clearance is by listening to the tappet noises) ummm really don't know how u can tell the difference if its is one thou out of spec

I bet this service cost a fortune also.

We are just cattle to them, seriously.

The best service you can do is do it your self I have found out after 3 toyota service centers
1 Chatswood NSW installed a cruse control unit that rattles and is coming off

2 Hornsby NSW sent in for a rattle at 40,000 told me it was normal had it over night cold start
Now at 116,000 blows so much smoke I fill bad driving it it started at 80,000km and toyota don't want to know you ,
Went in for a clutch at 30,000 at hornsby under warranty picked up looked under the gear box and the earth wire hanging down
Was there for another service and the bash trays were on back to front one was over lapping

3 five dock on parra road
Went in after a trip to cape York with a leaking LHR wheel bearing which I had fixed on the way back in qld
Replaced the seal and brake shoes
Picked up after 2 days get home go to wash the car and get to washing the wheels with only 5 wheel nuts on they had strip the wheel nut and left it in the door pocket

And they fixed the hand brake so well it does not work
2week latter I had oil in the brakes
Back to five dock toyota
Another day with out my ute
Now I have a bent axle
They quote me $1500 new axle , bearing and brakes
I went and picked the ute up went home
Called a wrecker $300 fro QLD complete with brake shoes

That is why I hate toyota Service

I would love to take this to Today tonight I need more people in the same boat

Mine has same seat knock. Whats the fix???
