265/65 r17 h/t, Snorkel, pro rack whispbar roof racks, second battery, UHF, tow bar, 10mm thick conveyor belt tub mat, tub liner, soft tonneau and 3" exhaust

Carries approx 220 kg daily including driver

674 km on trip computer prior to refuel
68.22L fuel to refill
7.78l of fuel remaining

68.22/674 = 0.1012 x 100 = 10.12l per 100 km
7.78 x 10.1= 78.73 km remaining approx
Total range of 674 + 78.73 = 752.73 km

$ 1.55 per litre x 68.22 = $105.74 cost for refuel
$105.74 / 674 km = 15.68 cents per km

This is mixed driving in both peak and off peak hours of the day, city and highway driving

This is very good economy. I have the same car but with arb canopy and 31" BFG all terrain tyres(only slightly larger diameter), I get 12l per 100km or 580km per tank max. 100k on the clock. Shows the difference in efficiency with wear on the injectors and rail supply pump.

swhilux, yeah I am much happier with it now, it improved significantly after the 3" exhaust install minimum of 1L per hundred on the digital read out but we all know how they can vary.
The main thing I noticed was the drop in rpm at 110 in top gear the needle just sits on the high side of the 2000rpm mark. This is with 50% worn oe Bridgestone tyres
And the best bit it doesn't go hunting for gears when cruise is on/off, no longer drops to 2nd gear at 110 on a slight incline

That does sound good. My rpm are about the same at 110kph. The auto hunting for gears is bad. It changes down at the slightest incline. What are the details with your exhaust, ie brand, price, setup?

OK...something is wrong with the old girl...constantly getting around 14l per 100 (true measure) compared after flush and all other attempts to correct the issue....
No serious weight or fruit on the car....me thinks strongly injector #3 is kaput! Would this give such poor economy?

I picked up my new bus a week or so back (will do a members build thread soon :D ) ,,

Picked it up with 27kms on it new from yard, Dual cab SR5 Manual, Stock as a rock at the moment,
Not for long though

Went on a trip last weekend to my bush block, filled her up on the Princess Hwy and headed east, done 504kms so far and have over 1/4 tank left, sat on 110km for majority of the trip as it allows you to, Pub run to and from the block which includes 15kms of dirt tracks and probably 20kms done since home round town,

Range says I have 200km left, So if thats close to correct I will get 700km out of a tank :D ,,, with a semi heavy foot,, I am stoked coming from a dual fuel 80 series cruiser!!

Even with less than 1000kms she's a noisy thing first thing in the morning lol,, already accepted it though all good! -- It's a diesel!

Few tanks in on my new 2014 SR5 D/C Auto. So far getting ~750km's out of a tank.

On board trip computer shows 8.1L/Km's, Tracking with an app has it calculated at 8.8L/100Km's..

Very happy with that. There is murmur's that the denso snorkel(I don't think it is brand specific, I just read that info from the snorkel thread) helps with fuel economy would be interested to try this out. :( need some money for the snorkel though.

i have a 2010 extra cab diesel with ARB bar and scrub bars 3 inch lift with 265 75 16 km2 tyres and steel tray and i drive pretty normal tow a dual axle tip trailer for work sometimes (short trips) and i can only manage to get 15l / 100km even after replacing all fluids and oils and installing a secondary filter setup with 2micron filter and cleaning the MAF. any ideas what it costs from Toyota for them to diagnose and re flash it all and if anyone else has any suggestions would be sweet as :)

It is your tyre size causing higher engine load. Which increases fuel injection periods. Hence more fuel.

See Box, this is one of my issues...I had wider and very similar height tyres, gone skinnier because I log every tank since new and there is a really clear trend where the consumption is heading for me. So for me personally, yep I agree and the data shows the fuel went from 10l per 100 to 12l per 100 on my initial tyre increase...accepted and happy days. Now for whatever reason I am consistently sitting at 14l per 100 and I am seriously thinking (based on the service report) that #3 injector is my main culprit. But jeez its doing my head in...130K and an out of spec injector...thats not good in any measurement!

59 litres for 649kms - 9.1 litres per hundred,, stoked! :D

It's in ARB at the moment getting some extras,, think the new weight might throw this out a tad  ,,

2011 D4D SR5, 32" MT tires, 3" exhaust and get between 690km - 710Km out of a tank. Having the correct tire pressure plays a big factor

My set up hasn't changed since new, and like you i didn't get any decent fuel economy until the engine had over 30K on the odometer.

My Hilux showed a range of 35km on the computer when the fuel light came on, it took in 63l when I refueled, so the light comes on with ~14l in the tank? And the computer grossly understates the range, with 13-14l I could have done another 100+ km.
