Where can i purchase a Steinbauer Chip and Humex exhaust from? I live in Darwin so guess I'll need to buy from south then get it fitted here.

i have a Chip-It module and so far quite impressed. I dont know how to add images here so i will just quote figures on the dyno graph supplied from a test vehicle(not my own) in standard tune then with the module.
STD: 116.6hp and 304nm
DPS tune : 151.3hp and 399nm
pretty impressive in my books!
I also have a turbo-back 3inch stainless system with high-flow cat but am yet to install it. If i have some time this week hopefully i can get it done. Once i do finally fit it i think i will go for a dyno run to see the results and will post them here.
The beauty of this chip is you can turn it on and off so as to easily see the differences.
That and is much cheaper than most others. Also adjustable tunes with 5 different supplied and the option for custom tuning by the manufacturer via remote access through wireless and a co-pilot program.

So far on my Hilux i have tried the DP Chip - went well but would go in to limp mode at inapropriate times ie. when coasting along to merge in with slower traffic. Would have to turn the ignition off to reset and then might go alright for days at a time without any issues, but got sick of the hassles to took it off. Then tried a VMN chip and it would not run properly at all. Engine was really gerky under acceleration. Sort of like it was hesitating. Tried it on all of the different settings and even checked the supplied harness in case there was a fault there somewhere but ended up taking it off too and sending it back for a refund. Now my only option left is to try the Stienbauer which i probably should of done in the first place. My Lux is an o5 model and they do have a specific model to suit it so hopefully i dont have any hassles with it. Thanks for posting the Dyno results. Good to see some actuall results from a user rather than just relying on the manufacturers claims.

yeah 05 -06 (up until aug06 build) have the old ECU injectors (same as mine), and require special chips.. is that the same with the steinbauer ? i'd be surprised if it wasnt..

Ive been down the same path as you, and now just run the sprint booster with awesome results.. im not bothering with a chip as well anymore..

Well i had heaps of problems with my 05 model lux using the DP chip but as soon as i switched over to the Steinbauer module i never had an issue. I then transferred it to my current lux (09) got it re-mapped and with the Sprint Booster i have to change my whole driving style . Bloody crazy shit :D :D :D :D :D

There's a thread on it here:

http://www.newhilux.net/phpbb/viewtopic.php?f=42&t=6205

It's basically a chip that goes in line with your accelerator to dramatically increase the vehicle's performance by getting rid of the throttle lag produced by the electronic fly by wire. It's a safe and easy way to boost the vehicle’s performance and works exceptionally well with or without a diesel chip.

Hi Guys. Will the Steinbauer void the factory warranty? I also tow a camper and am a bit dissapointed with the Lux's performance but I'd hate to be caught out with a warranty issue.

The Steinbauer is a quick unit to remove for when you get your service done, and just don't tell them you have had it on the car.

Well that's what I do anyway. . . . . ;)

Hi. I just bought a Steinbauer second hand as my DP Chip was annoying me with shut downs every now and then. I would also like to know what colour wire to splice into on the accelerator. If anyone could help it would be greatly appreciated.

Cheers

Hi
Been reading through the threads on different chips and I'm wondering if anyone has heard or had experience with the Morepower units? I've got a 09 3.0TD and after fitting 265/75-16 of course its lost any up and go it had, so at the moment it looks like a decision to be made between chip it and steinbauer and probably a sprint booster, any thoughts, recommendations be helpful.
Thanks
Logan
