I can't understand why my 2009 Hilux fuel filter has a 10mm inlet and 10mm outlet, but the fuel pump has an 8mm inlet. The fuel hose to the filter is 10mm but the hose from the filter to the pump is 8mm. Strange. All OEM.
Any ideas?

Maybe so the primer pump can do its job easier?

To explain further, the fuel hose on the inlet side of the filter is 10mm...quite right.
But the fuel hose on the outlet side is 8mm, to suit the pump connector. Toyota have simply "persuaded" an 8mm hose onto the 10mm outlet of the filter. Someone at Toyota got their sums wrong, eh? Should've been a 10mm fitting on the pump!
After all this time, you'd think they'd fix it.
