Warning fuel light not working

Postby Hiluxmonster on Sun, 23 Sep 2018 10:13 +0000

Hi I have a sr5 2012. I ran out of fuel tonight. I was low but it said I still had 50kms estimation. So I didn't worry. The warning fuel light did not come on and the truck let me down...ran out of fuel!!!
Anyway lucky close to station I put $20 of diesel in and primed it a few times and she started. Drove home no issues.
I'm just concerned about the warning light not comming on. Anyone knows why? Any suggenstions would be great.

Does the light come on when you start your vehicle? If not the light is dead.
Have you noticed this before or is it new? How long have you had the vehicle?
Does it have long range tank?
Cheers Gipsy :D although I'm sure somebody will challenge that  even Einstein wasn't certain of his theories.
