Filler neck replacement

Postby Locknut on Sun, 17 May 2015 5:51 +0000

G'day guys

I've got a 2010 SR lux with a tray. The fuel filler neck at some stage in its life has been damaged and needs replacement. With the problems that the tray has with mud from the wheels flicking up all over the filler cap, I was wondering if anyone has anyone tried an alternate filler neck or tried repositioning it to the front of the mud guard. I know people have mounted brackets around them but was after an aftermarket alternative that's better than the OEM equivalent.

Don't know about anything readily available aftermarket, I modified my filler neck and repositioned it between the tray and cab as below

Good job!

Did you make your own pipe with a flexible hose at the end? The cap looks different to mine also...????

I cut the top part off the factory filler, then welded some more tubing onto it to run back to the tank. The cap is just a lockable version I picked up from supercheap
