Replacement Gasoline Filter

Hello everyone, I have a 2008 2.7l 4x4 DC Hilux G. The ute has done 95,800kms and I wanted to change the fuel filter in the engine compartment. I got the correct part number off a website but I could not find the correct filter in the USA Amazon or Ebay websites. I live in the Caribbean, Trinidad and Tobago where no one really stocks parts for the 2.7(2TR-FE) engines, even Toyota will have to order this filter.

I wanted to know, are there are any replacements I can use from other vehicles or will a universal replacement fuel filter work? If I cannot find any replacements, I will have to spend a lot of money to buy this filter at the Dealership.

Please help me.

Google reco z684. Is that what you want? If so, they're available on eBay. Surely someone will ship internationally. That fits our 2.7 2wd model. Have a look. Just trying to help anyway.

Thank you for replying mattwhite, that's exactly what I'm looking for the only problem is that shipping from Austrailia is going to cost me more than buying it from the dealership sadly.

Do you know if a universal filter will work?
Also, will the Prado 31100 filter work?

I can easily get the Prado 23300-31100 filter.

Probably the same fittings but different angles. Why is the prado filter so cheap but the hilux is expensive. Im not going to recommend playing with fuel fittings running at around 40psi.

The prado filter is a lot cheaper since I can import it from the usa for a lot less than the dealership wants for the hilux filter which they dont stock.

Everything part related for Toyotas tends to be expensive here unless its old. The d4d 1&2kd engines are very popular but the 2tr is a lot less common so no one really stocks parts as a result.

Thanks for your help mattwhite.
