Under boost, over boost and no throttle

Hey guys - I have been chasing a problem for a while. I have a 1kd hilux that has a unique fault. As you accelerate through the gears it goes fine until you clutch for the next gear (usually 3rd/4th) where it goes into a sort of limp mode with no lights. The car still responds but it is as if the first half of the throttle pedal is non existant. If you clutch in, drop to idle for a few seconds it returns to normal.

Things I have tried:
1 No pending or stored codes
2 Rail pressure is fine with no drops out of the normal
3 New injectors / pump and filters have been installed (fuel manager pre filter in place)
4 new throttle pedal
5 swapped out the throttle body and associated stepper motor and tps
6 test turbo boost - gets the prerequisite 15psi
7 disconnect battery and do a memory fade - appears to work but then comes back
8 cleaned manifold, MAF and MAP vacuum surge

Modifications the car has:
1 Snorkel with K&N filter - snorkel has been on long before the issues started - have swapped K&N out and in no change
2 Front mount intercooler
3 2 3/4" beaudesert exhaust - been on long before issue
4 EGT probe - no issues with exhaust temps
5 EGR blank with 8mm hole installed

One concern I do have is when I fabricated the intercooler piping I may have swapped out the MAP sensor with a later model one (apparently there is a change mid '06?) where the voltage read is under 2 volts but the earlier ones reads up to 3.5 volts

Any help or comments to point me in directions not looked at would be great!

Cheers
Mal

Oh my. Poor guy. I hope it is the filter but sounds like you have spent a lot of money chasing the problem.

Tank filter was totally removed when a long range tank went in..... may have it sorted - when the pre filter went in they used silicon hose and push lok fittings - the hose had gone soft and may have been bleeding on suction....... fingers crossed!

It was the fuel filter - sorry for not posting sooner. Placed re-plumbed the filter so that the fuel miser filter is last one before the pump. That way the oem filter can be used to prime the second filter....

Also if your car starts and then stalls and requires priming for it to run right - and starts properly until it sits for 8hrs - it is likely to be the filter leaking air...

I had the same sort of issue but a P2121 code came up first. after I cleared it the code never came up again.

4th gear was shocking and could not accelerate over 80km. (would happen intermittently)

Sometimes acceleration would be fine and other times the power will die down while maintaining speed. I would put the foot down, turbo would spool but no acceleration would happen and then 2-4 seconds full power, acceleration would be fine.

I'm having a similar issue now.
