Fuel filter housing nut or screw?

Postby stevessss on Thu, 30 Oct 2014 8:29 +0000

Hi I am sorry about my vagueness and appreciative of your help.

I tried to change the fuel filter in the D4D diesel but could not get the filter housing open.

I unscrewed the ring clockwise which was good. But I believe there is a screw or nut holding it closed as well?

Where is this screw/nut and what do I need to undo it please?

Thanks for your help.

There is no screw or nut. Undo the retaining ring and pull the top of the housing up. The resistance you are experiancing is just from the o-ring and top seal. Just pull up with a little bit of force.

Thanks GeeBung,

I was confused as it felt 'locked' and all instructions talk about undoing a bolt or something - did not make sense.

Thanks,
