It appears you have the new (upgraded) Toyota 0422630010, rather than the DENSO original replacement.
You just use the spacer & longer bolts.
Keep it clean & don't drop the bolts ;) make sure the o-ring is central too.

Just wondering what is the difference between the newer (bigger) SCV than the older version? Will it give a better performance or just the same as the older version? Thanks

I'm only guessing mate but I'd say it was more about an improvement in service life than anything else. The earlier type (mine) weren't known for long life.

Hey fellas just pulled mine out to check. Having a few little problems just trying to narrow it down. Just wondering what parts are ment to actually move. I have the sealed version that you cannot dismantle. But
Nothing seams to move just wondering if this is normal or I chuck it in the bin and get a new one?
Thanks

When I had mine apart there is just a spring loaded piston up the guts of it that is controlled magnetically.

Hi guys,

I have the old SCV in my 07 Hilux, I bought the upgraded one at ebay and the darn thing did not come with the spacer. I called my local Toyota dealer and they dont have the spacer, they sell the whole kit. I was going to have a local shop create the spacer for me, but I cant seem to find what is the width of the spacer. Does anyone have one that can measure that for me? I would really appreciate it.

Thanks

Hi gents, anyone tried to polish out the score mark on the piston inside the scv? I also saw a youtube video where they polish the cylinder with a dremel. Would like to hear your comments. I am in South Africa and have the 2007 model without the egr cooler.

Yes, its been done before here viewtopic.php?t=21321

From memory, it seemed to be a reasonable solution but not as good as a new unit.

Anyone know why the thread linked below cannot be accessed?

I want to read more into this SCV as I am replacing mine soon (newer version)

Although on the surface of things it appears totally unrelated, it is likely due to the legalities and implications to the forum around the leaking injector seats that BDG supplied.
