Injector Banjo Bolts

Postby StevenS on Wed, 11 Dec 2013 8:01 +0000

I've got myself a set of Bailey's injectors to go in the Lux this weekend, but I know from when I changed the copper seats previously that one of the return line banjo bolts (that screw into the injector itself) was a bit iffy.

Now I've been to Toyota and they've told me the bolts listed under my VIN number (05 model) need to come from Japan so I'd be lucky to see them before new years. However they do have in stock the bolts from an 08 onwards model. I've spoken to BDG and they tell me the thread/depth etc on the return side of the injector is the same and never changed over the years, but the fact a separate part number is listed has got me concerned.

The part numbers are as follows:
05 Model - 23679-0L010
08 Model - 23679-30020

Can I use the later 08 banjo bolts? Is there something other than the injectors that might affect it?

Very specific knowledge requested here I know but hoping somebody might know

For the 05 bolts I got quoted $8 each, for the 08+ bolts it was $10 each.

Will probably have to buy some 08+ ones to compare, but that'll only be possible once I get to removing my injectors so if they are different it'll be a lot of time wasted.

Already have the new seals courtesy of BDG

I beleave them to be the same. The part number change is most likely due to manufacturing location they come from which is now denso Australia. So the old number which is most likely still good, the part would be from japan or Thailand.

Hope this helps.

Cheers Boxhead. I would have assumed they might be the same but ToyoDIY - whilst it might be a great resource - isn't always confusion free.

LOL, FWIW, i know the guys never change the bolts in the leak off rail in our test bench when running between Euro3 and Euro4 injectors, so the later ones have to fit. As for a difference, that i don't know...

Ok I've just swapped my injectors over today, and replaced 2 of the banjos with the 08+ part number version.

Side by side, there is no difference between them aside from the colour - the 08 ones are silver where my original bolts were gold. So bullet dodged there! :D
