Hi guys,
Thanks for all your research and ideas on diesel filtration.

I'm going to instal a secondary filter so it's been very helpful (bit overwhelming to lol)

My question is - why not instal a double filter setup? Using 2 - 30 micron filters or maybe even a 30 n a 10 micron - also it gives you 2 water/fuel separators then you've got your oem filter. Something like this setup - https://www.ebay.com.au/itm/321422904909

Double Filter Assembly DFA05 With Delphi 296 Filters M14 X 1.5mm Metric

Cheers

Went to install my FM100 2 Micron Final Filter today but I cannot locate instructions anywhere...seems they've been stricken from the internet.

Has anyone got a copy of the installation instructions they can pass on?

EDIT: nevermind, got 'em.

Apologies for the double post...

For those that installed a secondary fuel filter and had to replace the stock outlet hose (see here, and here [hose labelled as 22100A running to 22100]), how'd you go about it?

Is the easiest method to access that hose and remove it, through the wheel arch (assuming full-lock right)?

Any tips on getting the hose on and off in a confined space (as they're notoriously difficult to remove and install)?

Finally, what sealant did people use for the threads on the fuel filter? Not sure on what to use that's compatible with diesel, the brass thread, aluminum, etc (probably overthinking this :\).

Cheers for the aid.

I used Permatex thread sealant ( PX#59214) on mine. Just did the Cape and back without a problem. Vibrated the crap out of it on corrugations and never leaked.

I did it all from the top, no issues.

as for sealing, I used plumbers gas sealant. expensive, but no issues in 20k

Cheers guys, did the install on the weekend. Overestimated the difficulty of accessing the fuel supply pump and getting the hose on; was going off prior experience for my catch can (which was a pain to get hoses on) but this one was easy as.

A day and a bit and not even a cough on the initial start post-install so we're sweet :)

Interesting tussle occurring on Facebook regarding this exact topic. Don't bring the mud-slinging here but two renowned diesel shops have dissenting opinions on what's best practice with the pre-filter and secondary filter install.

Opinion one; opinion two.

Aaand, for good measure, a video test. Keep in mind the below are "lab" results.
