I had mine on the dyno a couple of weeks ago and max of 444 Nm at 78 kph ,

I've been running folder 2 custom 1 for a couple of months now on my standard D4-D with no problems. Loving the extra power  Drove from Newcastle to Albury with folder 2 tune 1 to see if there was any fuel ecconomy benefit but alas.. 10.5 KM/L is the best I can get out of it at freeway speeds.

Still wanna get a 3" exhaust for it though...

What (Chip it) tune are you running on your hilux

Ok so, I've put the 3" exhaust on as well as the EGT module and run it up to folder 2 custom 2. Took off up the road and it went into limp mode before I could even get into second gear. Checked and cleared the codes on the scan gauge and had another go. Same thing happened again so straight back to the shed to load the custom 1 map in again. Had a few issues with the chip not allowing anything to be written to it but I sorted that out and hit up google for what the codes meant.
Got a p0087 and a p0191 code which in short means the fuel rail pressure is too low. I then gave Jarrod at ChipIt a call and he tells me that what's happened is, is that the over pressure relief valve in the fuel rail has kicked in. This of course dumps the pressure in the rail and the fuel pressure sensor shoots of a code.
Only way to fix it is to have their fuel pressure mod done. Some d4-d's have a bit higher tolerance but I don't think mine does.
So it's back to custom 1 and I'm still pretty happy with that.

viewtopic.php?f=29&t=3730 Steinbauer module
This is your best bet and what most guys are running, but be aware all of these aftermarket chips place more stress on all your engine internals and injectors

As Pete said, that, or look into Unichips or HKS iD's. They're piggy back ECU's and are tuned on the dyno specifically for your car, and have fail-safes. Can be a lot safer than a chip.
Cheers,
Jay

Hello all
I have had a chip it running on tune 5 for a few years now with only a few codes thrown over the years but just recently had 4 codes thrown at once 69, 88 and 93 cleared the codes and all runs well 100km on and was wondering if I should KO the chip or not the car runs nicely with the chip but do not want any major failure. Has anyone had any major failure due to a chip it module on Tune 5 is it within safe parameters for the engine long term. Thanks in advance for any advice.

Do chips affect fuel consumption? If so, positively or negatively?
