Is his name captain risky?
Lucky! But volume is up, it will be high on a cold start.
You just can't avoid injector wear, like tyres, you can look after them, but they still wear out.

Cheers,

Anth.

*edit*, i think i got my answer reading through all of this, a post 2008ish hilux shouldnt be a drama for this oil pickup at the young age of 60k, ill check it myself when i dump oil at 65k.

coming up to the end of my factory warranty and capped servicing, I want to catch any small issues which "may" be covered under a warranty before I am on my own.

the reading here suggests an engine diagnostics may be a good idea to get a baseline going forward?

You got it!
The problem on the increase now is blowby due to pigs not cleaning injector ports & not replacing seats/sheets.
If your lucky they probably didn't take yours out at 40k & wreck it.
Due to age, it will need a set of injectors now or soon, also Highly recommend the 7mm plate & egr clean.
Have fun!

Not quite clean yet. The injector ports have to be clean of oil, carbon and dirt.

So a rag on the end of a dowel / rod is the best way to get the ports clean?
