Yeah, that is actually correct.

We've been going down this path for ages trying to get the coating to stick (among other R+D issues) and nearly fell off the chair when in April of this year we found out (by stripping a set). Talk about validation of the right direction.

It is a fact, and Denso's latest generation part numbers have coated spindles. Like the Euro3 hiluxes and not getting the DLC 'fix' the Euro4 guys did, i assume they're not planning this solution for any of the 23670-39316. Time will tell (we know for a fact the last lot out of factory in Taiwan still dont have coated spindles).

Hope this helps
Matt

Thanks Matt.
They say that plagiarism is the best form of compliment so well done to your team for leading that direction.
Interesting that the latest run did not get the spindle coating...

Yeah. Like i said, i believe that it will be a repeat of the Hilux Euro3 thing. They've never got the 'DLC fix' > even to this day.

It seems as though their R+D is totally focused on making the next cars (and to be honest, the emissions requirements today are pretty extreme), they don't worry too much with the older units. remember that 23670-39316 are only able to be fitted to 2007+2008 cars because they came out new on a 2009 with the same engine configuration, not because they viewed it as an issue that needed to be rectified...
