I have always been vigilant with fuel, filters and also ran Wynns ETD. I am now up for a new set of injectors. Rang a fuel injection place today and they advised me they are doing a Hilux every 2 days. I can't believe Toyota have an obvious problem and will not address it. I have BTW rang Toyota and registered a complaint.$2500.00 out of pocket. Not happy. Any thoughts?

Posted: Fri, 24 Jul 2015 6:50 +0000Its a common fault, I know of plenty of other brands needing new injectors too, common rails will always need injectors more often than your old style injector needed replacing, it's just that simple, if you can't stomach that, don't own a Toyota, or a diesel in general these days... That said, I would put Baileys Diesel group injectors in if I were you, I doubt you'll have much in the way of issues with their injectors from what I read..

Are you angry when your tyres are worn down?
The injectors are wear n tear items.
120k is perfect time to replace them.

I to disagree that they are a wear down item.Is it stated in the service book to replace them at 120klm ??
The cost of owning a modern diesel is to exspensive IMO .
Add the cost of EGR crap. catch can its just to much .OIl pick up needs to be inspected or cleaned ...
I have recently sold my hilux just before all these costs were about to start for me . Dont forget water pump ????
Unbreakable certainly at a cost though that toyota love . Going by the recent info you see around everyone is becoming a EGR clearner expert . and charging accordingly .

Wow, 120,000 sounds great
.I have an Aug 07 with 87,000 on the clock and just had the injectors changed out and new Baileys put in.
Feedback value on two injectors was -3.5 before replacement, now sitting nicely below 1.
I always thought that because I was doing low km's, serviced every 5000 etc, etc, that all would be good.
Not so.
I cleaned the egr out at 65,000, new fuel filter every 20,000, catch can fitted at 80,000.
When the egr and throttle body were checked again at 87,000 it was filthy, this time it was not wet crap it was dry and dusty. So the catch can is working but the soot is still being deposited.
EGR plate now fitted, so fingers crossed.
I haven't done a big trip since the new Baileys have gone in, but it now runs quieter and responds nicely when the foot is planted.
I will give an update on the fuel economy after the next trip.

Dirt bikes/Road bike riding local plus interstate. Interstate for work and holidays, plus I like to drive. Even bought a tractor back from Mildura to Brisbane via Melbourne.
Did 310000km in 5 years exactly. Have slowed up lots since then as I have other things to do.
