cleaned my map sensor yesterday and cant belive the crud that came out of it. one question one end where pipe goes on is black and other end is grey like in picture im sure the black end was on top what is yours like (anyone)

Obiee you will find it has a locater. And will clip into the holder when fitted the correct way.

yeh ok
its just in the pic of you holding the sensor it is grey ontop and im sure mine was black ontop just thought it might of been on backwards thats all but yeh unbelievable the crap that comes out i will be cleaning mine every service.

They had a color change when the euro 4 1kd motor came out ( the one with the egr cooler)
Went from black/ white
To grey/ white
They just have a different location pin and bracket as the map sensor is in a different location. They are identical in make up tho and work the same.

I cleaned mine out with maf sensor cleaner by squirting through the black pipe on the filter, a little black came out then ran clear. Is this correct? First time done in 110k.

Boxhead - do you have any diagrams/photos showing the what the vacuum lines should look like when correctly connected and where to find the swirl control solenoid, im chasing a similar problem
