Cv binding on diff - help

Cv binding on diff - help

Postby Jay83 on Fri, 28 Oct 2022 7:28 +0000

Have a 2013 hilux dual cab sr5 4x4 with a 2" lift, diff drop and adjustable ucas. Just finished getting a wheel alignment.

Initially the front lhs cv was binding on the diff so to fix the problem we installed adjustable ucas and got a wheel alignment. Even after picking it up we could tell by the shops reaction that they had a little issue but wouldn't give details.

We noticed when we jacked that side up a little that the cv still binds slightly on the diff.

Has anyone had this issue? Need help. Desperate.

I think I may have same issue happening

Both tyres on full droop, I have 2.5" lift with 33s, recently installed adjustable ucas and noticed when turning tyre when jacked off ground, whole diff and brackets flex abit indicating bind up

I'm going to be installing a diff drop kit this week a 25mm one and let you know how I go

My car is very desperate for a wheel allignment too since I've done alot of suspension work recently wouldn't be surprised this will be the solution to this problem

UCAs wont do anything. It has too much droop - your struts are too long.

If the diff drop doesn't help, then you may need to look at a different strut top hat to limit the strut length by 10 or 15mm.

If you have this already you may need to carry a spare cv behind the seat.
I might be wrong.
