Ironman, Pedders or Snake?

Ironman, Pedders or Snake?

Postby makeamends00 on Fri, 15 Nov 2019 1:20 +0000

Hey Crew,

Planning on a simple 2" suspension lift kit for my 2011 SR 2WD Toyota Hilux 3.0D. Heres my options I've discovered so far:

Ironman:
https://www.4x4modsaustralia.com.au/suspension-kit-performance-w-gas-shocks-hilux-2wd

Just clocked over 200,000km on the original suspension, ex-fleet vehicle, minimal off-road use

The potential option of keeping existing suspension and maybe going with:

Snake Racing Kit:
https://shop.snakeracing.com.au/2005-15-2wd-hilux-50mm-econo-lift-kit/

Any feedback, recommendations or alternatives would be greatly appreciated

Keen to hear some advice or for some points in the right direction, thanks heaps

Personally I would steer away from any spacer lift like the SR one. There are plenty of of options around the price of the Ironman one, such as Drivetech, Outback Armour, Pedders, Rancho, Ultimate, Superior, Tough Dog, etc, they all have budget options, which will work well.

...plus the extended shackles in the Snake kit are illegal on road. And if you want to run them I think you ideally want to do it with longer leaf springs anyway.

Like Taresk and Toyzx said, do it properly, plenty of options.
