JMACX Hilux Coil Conversion

JMACX Hilux Coil Conversion

Apparently the JMACX Hilux coil conversion is on the way.

Any thoughts on doing this or are people happy with the leaf setup?

Seems to be a few LC70s running this kit, but you can also do the rear track correction (if your feelings about that issue are more informed than the Toyota engineers).

I've heard good things about the Cruiser ute set up. I'll be sticking to my leaves, due to it being a daily and occasionally needing to carry heavy loads.

If i was going to build a truck just for wheeling i would definitely consider it.

Guess it all comes down to personal preference and what the rig is mainly gonna be used for.

I'd certainly consider it, I'm running with an empty tub most of the time, even on big camping trips, I'm only packing for one person and a person sized dog, there's not a lot of weight in the gear, and I know from owning a 90 series for several years how much better a coil rear can be, so it would come down to whether I can justify the cost to myself (from memory, the Cruiser kits are around $10k plus the actual suspension components).

I'm in a similar situation... however, my camping trips are getting increasingly heavier as they years go on.

I do love the simplicity of the leaf spring but coils would be nice and I have been looking at 4 link rear end conversions for a few years now. An engineered bolt on unit would tick a lot of boxes. Although, the link geometry on the LC70 conversion does look a bit short... that would certainly affect the suspension movement and vehicle handling. But I guess that is a compromise of the bolt-on setup when compared to a custom setup where you can achieve a longer flatter link geometry.

A new rear axle housing would also be on my list, having broke one of those already.
