Who’s running KING SPRINGS?

Who out there is running King Springs?

I’m running OME Struts with 887 springs at the moment, and they’re a bit to stiff for my liking, even after running then in for 6 months. (no sag though)

I’m thinking about changing them out for some King Springs, but i’m. it sure wether to go the KTFR-101HD Heavy Duty’s, or the KTFR-101HDT Heavy Futy Tapered Confort.

Has anyone used any of these, with Steel Bar, Winch, 2 batteries

Hi Noriek,
Are you looking to raise the height, as the KTFR-101HD are a 2 inch raised spring, or just bring the front back to standard height with the extra weight? I have the same gear on the front as you ( steel ARB bar, spot lights, duel battery, & winch) and fitted KHFR-168H as advised by king springs when running OEM struts. They have been in for 12 months now and front sits at 495mm from wheel centre to arch. Ride seems to be good as they are not a heavy duty spring.
Cheers

Yeah, i have 2 inch raised, so was looking at the HDs.

but was wondering if it was worth getting the HDTs, the heavy duty tapered confort spring. for better ride quality, or if it would just sag quicker with all the weight i i’ve over the deobt

I’ve got the king tapered spring on some king struts, can’t recall the product code sorry. Steel bar and aux battery.

The lower rate section of the spring is virtually bound under preload with that weight thus only getting much from the softer tapered section from full droop back to normal ride height.

To be honest, with a heavier front end I don’t think there’s too much benefit in the tapered coils.

The ARB coils are softer (lower spring rate) than anything that you can get standard from King. Except perhaps the tapered wire comfort coil from King.

I’m running the ONE 887, Prado springs, same wire but longer.
they haven’t sagged at all, but they’re pretty stiff in the front.
