EFS or Ultimate Suspension

EFS or Ultimate Suspension

Postby goldiedg on Thu, 06 Apr 2017 12:06 +0000

Hey all,

So I have read lots of info about EFS & Ultimate. Both look like great set ups. Just wanted to hear from anyone who has either of these suspensions. I have a 2013 SR5 dual cab, looking at a 2" lift.

There isn't much here in recent months so just seeing if anyone has good or bad things to say about both suspensions.

Ultimate are in NSW so around an 8 hour drive, where EFS is like 5 mins from home, just wondering if its worth the drive

Cheers Dave

I've had my Ultimate for 8 months now, just checked them closely the other day so far so good.

With Ultimate you have to come back to them after 2,000 k's to retain the warranty. This is so once the its all worn in and all seated they can inspect it and tighten it all up.

They also weigh the car before fitting it up, it was quite interesting to find out the weight on each wheel.

My friend has EFS on his lux and hes happy with it too.

I had a 2010 Hilux Sr5 auto dual cab which i had ultimate do the suspension. The car went back to them no less then 6 times!!! they just could not get rid of a tail shaft vibration that occured after tje lift!!! An experience i would rather forget. I then bought a 2014 sr5 and left it standard as i was gun shy from my first ultimate experience. Ken at Ultimate openly told me that issues like mine do ovcur from time to time as the dynamics of tbe car change when lifted. Ultimate suspension did not shy away from the problem and tried to fix it..... a real hassel though going back 6 + times to the other side of Sydney. My advice stick with someone closeby in case you have issues...i learnt that lesson the hard way.
