LSPV Issue...thoughts?

LSPV Issue...thoughts?

Postby reetzy on Sun, 15 May 2016 12:11 +0000

Hey all. Just replaced all front and rear pads, drums and rotors and was in the process of adjusting the LSPV and cannot get it to lock the rear wheels up. I have had the rear off the ground (jacked under axle) in first gear idling and cannot get it to stall the engine when i apply the brakes, anyone had this before? Two things i see that could be the fault.

1. LSPV is faulty
2. ABS system stopping it from doing this (although it should?)

Note: All the brakes are bleed correctly with no air at all in the systems, rear brakes are adjusted correctly. Thoughts?

Also anyone have a seal kit part number for the LSPV or a new part number?

Tried adjusting the valve all the way to see if it changes?

if the hand brake don't work either then it probably is not a hydraulics problem especially if you have a hard pedal. Did you clean the inhibitor off the new drums before you fitted them?

If the hand brake doesn't apply enough pressure neither will the wheel cylinder, and yes I would imagine the ABS would get involved, try removing the ABS fuse but only when it is on stands, do not road test it like that.

Hi Marty. Yep removed all the inhibitor off. This weekend I will try and bed the rear shoes in more and have a play with the valve to ensure it is working correctly.

If the wheels r off the ground the valve wouldn't send pressure to the rear. Correct or not

With the wheels off the ground the lever is pulled all the way down - very minimal pressure would be going to the rear correct.
