We tested them for ARB on our Isuzu MUX in Australasian Safari last year, and they are brilliant. Reg Owen said they were the easiest shocks he'd ever set up on a race car, the team had an OME tech along to keep an eye on them and Reg simply asked for more or less dampening as required.

I have just replaced the rear shocks on my Hilux with another set of Billies or I would be chasing a set down simply because they dont have enough rebound dampening on the rear.
I believe if you genuinely have a dampening issue these will be great but most people will simply fit them for the wank factor.

O.K, because you asked so nicely - why would any *uka pay >$3k for Hilux suspension that does't offer any advantages in increasing tyre size, clearance, flex or travel.

I got this email from ARB Marketing department AKA Matt frost;
"The hilux is a 2200kg under powered slug box, the team at ARB thought we could fool crumpets by developing a suspension system that handles and drives like a rally car. Whilst ARB does't condone this type of driving technique simply because the slug box isn't capable of it, BUT if you spend >$3k on this product it will make you feel like your driving in the Fink Desert race, keep our share holders happy, and keep me in a job so I can continue to do 4wd TV"

In that earlier video there was some crazy flex in the front spindles, about the 1 min mark. They look cool but driving hard like that I'll stick with my Rekon kit and get strut tower reinforcements and spindle weld on sections first.... If I drove like that.....

Ordered a set of OME BP-51s last week, full replacement kit.

Has anyone else fitted and can provide some feedback on ride/ handling? ARB advised once fitted it would achieve a 50mm lift.

Ride and handling feedback from my customers they say it's second to none. Lift is the same as all OME stuff, around 50mm once settled.

I'm curious as my fathers 150 SWB Prado just got fitted with OME Nitro shocks and came back with a 59mm lift front and 65mm lift rear. Hasn't dropped either after a few weeks of running around and had his 2t caravan on the back.

All comes down to who orders and sets up the suspension for the quoted needs. All runs off constant load.

I gotta agree, I have never had OME settle to 50mm, more like 35-40mm. That is with each corner weighed for the specs, etc. OME isn't as good as what Ultimate has been for us. I have given up on putting OME under any of our farm utes, it was costing a fair bit and not delivering the pricetag performance imo. Vehicles trialled Nissan Patrol, Nissan Navara D40, D22. Toyota Hilux LN167R, Hilux KZN165R and the current model Hilux.

Ordered the BP-51s on 27th August - STILL waitin, apparently I'm looking at up to 3mth wait

OME BP-51s fitted today. 55mm lift front and 70mm rear. Body roll gone, huge difference in on-road handling, no longer dives under breaking. Will have to wait a week or two for an off-road test.

1500kms passed with new suspension, overall happy with the new gear - body roll gone, cornering at speed is a dream, large potholes and bumps/rocks etc are not an issue. Really good on fast gravel.

Only issue I have and will look into over the coming weeks - suspension is noisy around town/ local roads with small bumps resulting a continual thud/ rolling clunking noise.

I went into ARB at Head Office in SA. They want over $4K for the BP51s!!!

i nearly learning to use my car , as says ochre , almost every bad point on my 2013 hilux, gonne!,..but is noisy around town/ local roads with small bumps, total cost at Central America $3800..also i will include Hellwig rear sway bar to finish the body roll at cage behind me.

Recomended !, Fox or King shocks with DSC are a little more expensive..

I've installed them on the back only of my 2016 D/C 4x4

they are amazing, the difference in ride comfort and stability on & off road is day & night. (although they ware a bit shorter than stock shock observers - around 1.5-2cm)
