Hey Fellas,

Here is some information that might be handy for a of you in terms of how the +05 Hilux has been certified with the relevant ADR's and government bodies etc.

This link will take you to the page for the 150 Series Hilux section of the RVCS website, all of the different variations of the +05 Hilux are listed:

http://rvcs-prodweb.dot.gov.au/pls/wwws/pubrvcs.view_app_details?sCertID=33886&sMakeModel=TOYOTA+HILUX+150+SER

There is a heap of updates and other stuff that isn't really of interest, but this link details the 4x4 version:

http://rvcs-prodweb.dot.gov.au/perl/33886_938000R_RVD_13May2011083656.cmd

You will see that down the bottom of the page it shows the standard ride height of the vehicle, which is great to work from when working out whether you lift is withing the new rules for accepted lift heights etc.

This is what it shows:

Image

So we see a front measurement of 520mm from center of wheel hub to the guard, and a rear measurement of 582mm.

So from that you can add the 50mm or whatever might apply to you in your particular state to work out if your truck falls within the guidelines in terms of suspension lift. Bodylift would be a consideration as well.

Most stock +05 Hilux's end up with a front ride height of about 500mm after a they truck settles down after a few thousand kilometers of driving from new... so you need to consider the front end sag as well when calculating the allowable lift up front before engineers certificates are required for larger lifts.

Might be a handy weblink to print off and keep in the glovebox, and or save it on your phone as it may (Or MAY NOT!!) help one day in terms of a defect notice for suspension height.

Cheers,
Matt

(520mm rolling out of the factory no flares) 512 with flares, 500-510mm after a few 100klms so in reality 560- 570mm is a true 2" lift which looks to have the inner cv boots rubbing on themselves
I'm currently sitting at 475mm with a sahara bar, snorkel and second battery up front, I was at 480mm before the bar went on and this is on a 2010 my11 with the vsc, so mine sagged 20mm after only the 2nd battery

The rear is 582 w/o flares and 574 with flares

So can you take info from any variant of KUN hilux? Reason I ask is the 05 listing doesn't have suspension heights against it just ## but the one you listed (2011) does. Also the tyre size placarding changed etc etc.

Hi all and thanks for the information posted here. Im a new member....2013 GGN25 4lt Auto twin cab with steel tray. It had a 2" tough dog lift fitted over 2 yrs ago. Nudge bar, no other weight accessories and sits at 575mm front. The CV angle is quite extreme and LH inner had to be replaced for RWC (QLD Safety Cert). I checked with the installers and the front springs are the heaviest in the range. Rides well, but will have to do something with the driveshaft angles. Looking into the options there is not one that immediately ticks my boxes..
Cheers. Shane.

Gday skamme, welcome to the forum. Have a look at the Buds or Phat bars diff drop kit. Get one of these drop kits or a copy. The cheap spacer kits wont do much to help the CV angles.
