Cheers guys,
when the package came with the spacers there was no instructions?? So I emailed the company 4WD1 and they sent the full instructions. Of course this was after I spent some hours trying AND bending one of the coil compressers and grinding it off- I will have another go tomorrow.

Here are the pictures of the install -very easy -when you know how!! The ride is a bit firmer and I adjusted the rear brakes a little as well. The measurements do not add up though - the lift is 45mm according to the company I have 78 mm?? I don't know if the springs will settle??

@ troyco:

As you know I also have those spacers fitted.
And I'm very please with it.

The lift is indeed more than 45mm (the spacer itself has that thickness) I first had also a small 8cm lift but after 100km I checked again and it was about 7cm and very please with it.

You also need an alignment for the wheels after fitting them.

Naci,
thanks for the heads up on the alignment, I will get one shortly. I agree I am pleased with the results.
Jcarter, I believe the cv angle has changed a little but nothing to worry about

so without replacing coils/leafs you could get strut spacers to improve clearance?
seems like a cheap option, what downsides are there if any ?
reduced ride comfort etc.

At this stage i would be happy in just lifting the front up, it is just so incredibly low for a 4wd ><

can u post a pic front on so i can see the height at the bash plate etc.

the strut spacers increased lift by re-positioning the resting position of the strut/control arms.

Thus allowing the vehicle to sit higher. They dont increase wheel travel, you need longer struts and coils for that. But for the money, they are a good alternative if you dont wheel it too hard or too often of just want to fit those slightly larger wheels/tyres.

To match the front strut spacers you can get rear diff spacers too for just over 100bux and get a cheap lift if that is what somebody wants.

Its an option, thats there if funds dont allow anything more.

Krusty1, I have no lift - I have Boss air bag s in the rear and $10 differant from 4dw1 to snake 4wd1 the dearer. Why did I go with them? 4wd1 advertise 45mm clearance and snake 35mm?? I did this for a bit more of front clearance.

The photos are taken in a sloping drivway so may not give you the right look but here they are

Strut Spacers

Postby jcarter on Sun, 20 Jan 2008 4:34 +0000

thanks.
the Clerance just looks so much better then stock, and for only a few hundred bux.

The 4wding i have done so far the biggest problem i have had has been clearance in the fornt end.

I take it you can keep the strut spacers if you later on add a lift kit?, or use in combination with a lift kit.

Troyco how did u go with insurance with your tyres/spacers?
and which insurance company.

u are running 265/75/16 still ??
i thought we can only increase Overall diam by 15mm, which the 265's would exceed, any issues there?, and do they stick out at all?

with the rear bags and the front lift now.
does the vehicle sit much more level?

next upgrade is tyres and if i can get a strut spacers to allow abit more lift in the tyres, those combined would keep me happy for the work mine does/and will do for the next few years.

Thanks =]

Troyco!!

Those look awesome, I was pricing some "40mm" lifts this week, planning on fitting myself etc, but those look great, and have more lift,

Does anyone know if the OME/Bilstein/EFS/whatever else allow for more travel through the replacement struts in the front? (Assuming the normal kits consist of a new spring and replacement strut shockie)....
