No worries. Those r the specs from arb. Closed might be a little hard but I could measure some current model factory struts and shocks laying around the back of work, you'll have to wait till Monday tho[WINKING FACE]

That's awesome, thanks for doing that so quickly. Did you measure or was that factory specs ?

Now I've just got to find some specs for the factory shocks. A rough measurement of full open just requires a jack but closed is a bit tougher.

Just pull them off and measure. Much easier in the end, and more accurate. Factory may differ left from right

The combination of traction control and the BP's are brilliant, turns your Hilux into a rally car.

One thing to keep in mind is there's a tendency to get lost in it all thereby knocking the shit out of the vehicle and it's contents. I know that sounds a bit contradictory but there's only so much this system will handle.

Well worth it if you have the dollars.

Hi TOYZX,

Any chance you could share what the three general compression / rebound settings are? or recommend what I should set mine to? I have the adjustment wrench and want to try sort out mine.

Im having the same issue with the clunking noise over small bumps on road.

I have a Sahara ARB bullbar and dual batteries on the passenger side, the passenger side is louder than the drivers side.

Thanks

Hey Toyzx, any idea why the n80 fronts are so much shorter? Are the 70s compatible for the sake of longer struts?

Cheers mate,

Cory.

Haven't really tried to croos them over or taken any measurements to see if they would. I'd have to have a closer look in the front but I know in the rear the newer shocks are longer because they have movove the top mount on the chassis, it's a little higher. Next time I have one in I'll try and get some measurements of where everything is and compare it to mine to see it it might work.

HI Guys,

Has anyone worked out this clunk at low speeds, ive had mine in now for about 3 months and i've discovered i have it, and yes mine has a ARB Bullbar on which was fitted 2 weeks prior to the BP51, if anyone knows the fix that'd be great so im pre-prepared before i go back to ARB Northside in Sydney.

Cheers SB.

SB. If you have a clunky or knocking front end ut could be your bp51s. What do you have your compression set at? We have found the best way to check if it's the struts at fault is to turn the compression all the way up and go for a drive. If it makes it better or disappears altogether back them back off amd see if it comes back. If it does then you have a dodgy on or both. You can also try doin one side at a time to pinpoint the problem. Cheers Luke.

hey Luke,

Ok they've set mine at comfort setting whatever that means and i admit i quite like it, we did set it at firm which was one set upwards but i found the ride too harsh.

From what i can see visually Compression is at the low end of the scale and Rebound is in the middle of the range

No problem mate! Now go tell the ARB guys your results and they should happily get you a new set or just one if need be. If they try and tell you it's b.s. then go higher as it's a well known problem. Our store has become a bit of a problem solving hub because of our conditions and have had plenty of issues with the bp51s and have done plenty of testing.

Hey Luke,

So based on the Compression set at 6 midrange you believe that they should be changed ?
