EFS suspension opinions

Postby lenqt on Tue, 31 May 2016 4:12 +0000

Went into a local shop and asked for 2" EFS, lady said she can order it next minute dude walks out and says he won't sell them they are shit then tried to push me to buy tough dog. Started to go on about them name changing 5 times etc etc. I said I'll research and get back to him.

So here I am ;) What do all you think I kinda had my heart set on EFS :(

As above, I wouldn't put tough dog stuff on my lawn mower!

I have just put EFS with XTR shocks on my Hilux. From Frentree Gully. I love them.

I put EFS shocks on both my old 2003 and 2004 Hilux's and found them to be really good in both handling and soaking up the rough stuff.
I will be getting them again for my new 2016 model when I get some spare coin..

I run efs on my 1990 and love them, only fault I find with them is there shackle angles, they don't allow you run longer shocker, but as a direct bolt on they are good, mine have done more then there fair share of over bending and even flatlining the front in flex, nothing broken, jumped the car more then I can count on my fingers and toes and only ever wore out the plastic pads between springs on the front due to different steering setup, witch were available same day when I need them 2000kms from home and only 20mins drive from where I was staying,
farting is alot like jxxxxxg off. both provide instant gratification, but neither is a long term solution to the actual problem......................

Cost pretty much the same as Bilstein. Why not use the best and fully re-buildable.
Talk to ultimate.

Greased shackles mate. I need to lift up and spray lube between leafs that's the way it lasts for awhile till rain washes out.

Yeah sorry mate thats what i meant, I jack them up and use a pry bar to separate the leafs one at a time and use a flat blade screwdriver to smear some grease on the wear pads.

That's cool bud. I'll get to it in few days. Other than that great suspension.
