Will 2005 to current SR5 4X4 rims, fit a 2007 SR Hilux 4x4?

Thanks for that, have the standard BS 205x16 tyres and they are as I found out treacherous in the wet, I will only get caught once.... luckily didn’t do too much damage, looking to fit wider-better tyres and rims also flares if required.

Cheers

Im going through the process of fitting wider tyres right now so if you have any specific questions fire away and I will see if I have already crossed that bridge.

If you wish to stay legal there is all sorts of catches to watch for.

Mate no issues, they will go straight on. If you have a search on the forum you will find quite a bit of information on wheel and tyre choices etc.

Is it right that sr5 studs are longer then sr studs? I have no personal experience with it but im fairly sure I read somewhere on here about people breaking studs off sr's with sr5 wheels on, rougher conditions I assume. Dont hold me to that but might be worth doing a search on it.

SR5 WHEELS ON SR

Postby hilux_scaper09 on Sat, 16 Oct 2010 4:19 +0000

Hi
iam new to this site and owning a hilux. I am looking to change the original steel wheels to the SR5 wheels and wondered if this raised any dramas like having the tyre stick out from the fender or change the telemetry ie Speedo.
Eventually i will put bf goodrich A/Ts.
Thanks

SR5 wheels will fit on SR with no dramas, tyres sticking out of guards and speedo will be out acccording to how big the tyres you choose to put on..... using the search function on this site will answer most of your questions.

I originally went with 31x10'5's on SR5 rms on my Hilux, fitted some aftermarket flares from Utemart www.utemart.com.au

I did not think I neded them until the first muddy road! Very easy to fit yourself and have been on my car for nearly 3 years now

Yes it did fit, i just replaced mine with SR5 with 31x10.5R16 and it does stick out abit but no drama look better that way, didn't have any flares yet might need one if i put something abit more crazy tyres on next time.

And yes the sr5 studs are longer then sr studs so when u get the rims ask them to supply the stud as well.

I was told the other day that if you fit the sr5 wheels to the sr you need to use sr5 wheel nuts.Is this true?

The alloy rims have a different nut and from memory the studs are a bit longer on the SR5. There is an old thread on this is you have a look around.
