If you are happy to travel as far as the Morley area, the guys at Wilkinsons Suspension know their stuff.

I have the same issue where I am. I have had two specialist centers completely throw out my front end (one was a steering specialist and the other a local tyre center each claiming one was fixing the others stuff ups), which came at great cost to me in tyres it's absolutely incredible they can stuff up so much. I'm running out of options and don't trust any of them now. Their equipment is not serviced and not calibrated and the workers are baboons. Not long after I get mine done, I'm leaving Brisbane bound for Sydney and then Perth, so by the time I'm half way and find out it's not done right, I can't turn around and get it rectified a second time.

I don't blame you Jogal for being complacent.

Hey Jogal,

I'm fitting new wheels and tyres tomorrow and will need an alignment too. I'm in Ozi park too and I'm wondering the same thing. I used Wilkonsons to assemble my Bilsteins to my springs and found the owner a really nice bloke who knew his stuff.

When I had the SS Comodore I replace the entire body shell after a rollover (long story). After it was assembled I had 3 places try to sort the alignment and no joy. I was recommended a place my my very good friend who owns an auto shop in Belmont but doesn't do front end alignment work. It is Glide automotive in the city 33 Newcastle St just off the Graham Farmer before the tunnel entrance west bound. (08) 9328 7771

They figured out the problem was the K frame was not aligned correctly by the assembler and needed re aligning. Anyway they sorted it and did a great job so that's where I'm taking my Hilux for it's alignment after lift, tyres and wheels are fitted.

(edit) Just rang and spoke to Brian who confirms he sorted a new lifted Hilux last week and it was no drama. He also advised that Caster will be slightly moved by lifting the rear so I'm waiting till I get my blocks in place at the back before fitting the new wheels and tyres.....

Well f--k me !!!!! i,ve had the alignment done twice this week and my car now drifts to the left , still rubs under compression on passanger side and my wheel balance is rooted. Both times i,m told that the caster is at it's limit and theres nothing they can do more and my only option is cutting the guards (which i don't want to). I'm running 265/75/16's on 0 offset rims same as my last hilux which never had these issue's can anyone give me advise as to what may fix these problems or should i look at raising the front another inch?

I see you have a 2009 model SR5 Jogal with 265/75/16. Obviously they are trying hard to get you the clearance you need as to why they pushed them out so much. You may need to change your offset a little. But I won't say anything more on the subject because I don't condone oversize wheels as such. Sorry, I'm anti size on these things due to their reputation as a roll-lux and the complaints I see about the brakes especially more so with oversize wheels. But good luck, I bumped this for you. Someone may give you some tips.

I had mine done at Glide last week and it is driving sweet, Brian said it is near the limit on the caster adjuster on the rear of the LCA but he said it will be fine and won't wear. I'm off to get the tyres fitted now and I'll let you know how it goes. I'm fitting the same size tyres but with 16 +30 rims.

Yeah I took it to Brian last week he says I'm at my limit so it looks like I need to cut the guards a bit

Hmm, strange, it must be the offset. I got an assurance from MMAAXX that these tyres will fit no worries on mine with the 3" lift and 30P offset.

I bought the Wheels from Beaurepaires on Scarb Beach road. Really good price because they own Speedy wheels. I'll post here again later today when I have the wheels and tyres fitted.

OK here's an update.
I had the 4 rib ATZ 265-75-16 fitted on Friday. My car drove perfect before and now also pulls to the left. Both Brian and the bloke at Emerald Tyre service say that first I should try to swap the front tyres, if that doesn't work then to take it back to Glides and they will split the caster. This means running a different caster on each side. The right hand wheel will need to be pulled back slightly. I have about 20mm spare clearance so hopefully this won't create any problems.

Observation: These tyres are a compromise and I knew that when I chose them. They tend to wonder on the road easily and follow any camber in the road. I think this is why they mainly puul to the left. They are no where near as nice on the highway as the HTs they replaced but I'm sure I'll be happy when I get them in the dirt.

Oh and the new mags and tyres look briliant :D

I'll keep you posted...
Cheers

I have a problem with wheel balancing it would seem. Im getting a vibration in the front end with my 265/75/16 Goodyear mudders. Now I can appreciated a slight wobble at very low kms, but not all the way from 70kms upwards. 3 companies have tried to balance them and see no reason for them to be wobbling as they are completely balanced. Any ideas?

Mines been back in for an adjustment and now it doesn't pull to the left as bad but still does slightly. They have split the caster, which means pulling the left wheel more forward than the right. Actuall the left was fully forward so the right was pulled back a bit.

I'll drive it for a week and then if it is still pulling left I'll gert it pulled back a bit more. It still clears the mud flap by about 10 mm. I think I'd rather have to tie the mud flap back than put up with the constant pull to the left......

I feel your pain.

I’ve got a 2016 hilux. I put and ARB old man emu lift kit on, +30mm offset, and 285 tyres. Rubbing on the back of the wheel arch. Bad alignment.

So alignment is broken down into caster, camber, and toe. OEM suggest +1.6 degrees caster, +0.57 degrees camber, and 0.04 degrees tow.

So my research tells me that;
A lift kit causes caster negation and camber addition.

By increasing caster adjustment brings your wheels forward. But stand camber adjuster is limited. I put in a Black Hawk upper control arm which increased caster by 3 degrees. I also got another 2.5 degrees from adjuster. Total 5.5 degrees. The result was no running with 285 tyres. The steering is more stable in straight line but doesn’t like to turn as easily. Steering feels heavier. Increased trail. Camber is now -2 degrees.

If car pulls to one side the caster is typically not the same both sides.
