Just got it 3 weeks ago, pretty good and feel more confident when going the corner and driving on wet as well. So will update this when my next tyres change.

nexen hmmmmm
i got the on my hilux 2006 and they have about 5mm left and F*** they are shit house out in the wet, on some hills (when its raining or even if it only wet abit) i can barely grab tracktion to take off, its like driving on ice. but maybe thats because they have 5 mm left but dont no much about these A/T tyres, to me i think they should still have traction in the wet. the other night i was a windsor and i done a ute turn gave it a bit of gas and faceing on coming traffing, hahahaha :D luck no traffic.

WEAR, PERFORMANCE ON and OFF ROAD:
i went with these tyres because old mate at the tyre shop suggested them to me after a few bad expiriences on wet roads with copper stt's , he told me that these new wranglers are silica based so they will be sticky in the wet , he was rite they are a great tyre in the wet on road and now the missus can actully drive around a round about in the rain and not do a 360.
they are suprisingly quite tyre on road. as for off road i am more confident in them them then the stt's , they love pulling threw the mud and up shally rocky hills , they have a kevlar side wall which is another reason why i got them , was sick of getting punchers on the coppers. now for wear , they are wearing quicker then other tyres as a softer tyre would , but i am also quite harsh on these tyres on and off road so they going allright , no puchers anything yet .
they have traveled about 30 000 and i rotate them every 5 when i service the hilux, i will get another 10 to 15 out them yet and , all round not a bad tyre , i would have them again no worries at all

cheers coen

a bit sceptical at first as ive never herd of them before and thought they were a cheap rip off of the bfg atr's. cheap yes, but holly crap are they good! a little bit of road noice up to about 50km/h but only herd when the windows open. onroad they grip really well also in the wet ive had no hairy moments. offroad they are awsome, compared them to my mates bfg atr with the same tread pattern and the grabbers were better in nearly every way. nice big tread lugs and decent spaces between them for better grip in muddier conditions

BRAND. Mickey Thompson BAJA STZ

TYRE SIZE. (265/70/16) (31")

TYPE. A/T

SUSPENSION LIFT. 3"

RIM SIZE. 16 x 8 Pro comps

WEAR and PERFORMANCE ON + OFF ROAD - ~ So far Ive done just over 15000kms on these tires, 80% road, 20% sand / mud and Im still impressed on a daily basis. Mickey Thompson used a 10ply carcass on these tires so their load rating is 121R for mine which is like 170kmh and 1450kgs per tire which is excellent for carrying big loads or towing.. the handling in the wet and the dry is still impeccable, even after the inital period where all tires feel like you're driving on rails..

I tow our van with these and carry some heavy loads.. im still very impressed with these tires..

BRAND.
Bridgestone

TYRE SIZE.
275/65 R17

I haven't seen anyone else on this site with this size tyre. The increase in size (depending on what calculator you use) is 14mm over standard and therefore legal in Queensland. There are no issues with rubbing.

TYPE.
D694LT

SUSPENSION LIFT.
OME 2"

RIM SIZE.
17 X 7.5 Factory rims

WEAR, PERFORMANCE ON and OFF ROAD
Too early to comment on wear and performance. First impressions are that they are a significant improvement over the stock Michelin tyres, which isn't at all surprising. The stock tyres had a number or deep cuts in the sidewalls which is the reason for my upgrade. I don't go off road too often, just a few trips a year to Moreton, Fraser and Stradbroke Islands so the new tyres should be up to the task.

20,000 klms great tyre, did a simpson desert trip last August down to 14 PSI no problems though I did flare my Speedy Desert rat rims slightly. would prefer 245 75 16 for a bit more cushioning but not available at the time. Great in the wet compared to previous Cooper ATR.

BRAND. Cooper DIscoverer S/T

TYRE SIZE. 275/65R18

TYPE. A/T

SUSPENSION LIFT. 3" Front, 2" Rear

RIM SIZE. Pro-Comp 18X9 Zero Offset

WEAR and PERFORMANCE ON + OFF ROAD: 72000 Km's so far, all good and wearing well. Used to hit the bodymount sometimes but various wheel aligments and massaging have rectified that problem. Mainly travelled on HWY but monstered through the CREB in the wet with little problems, only winching once.

Cheers

TYRE FITMENT & PERFORMANCE SURVEY. (Tyre bible Template)

Postby toyboata on Wed, 21 Mar 2012 5:20 +0000

Anyone after the Goodyears, get em before April 15th and get 3 tyres for the price of 4 when supplied and fitted by Goodyear. I would love some Wrangler MTR or Duratrac but the bastards don't come in 33 or 34 for 17's which is what I'm after.

did you read it ALL..?? have a look at peoples sheds aswell as a search you wont be able to fit 285/75r16s or 33"s as will need body lift or 3" + suspension lift mate.. depends on what rims youll be using aswell well the offsets..

I'm question the expertise of my local tyre firm. I've got a 06 sr dual cab. No lift and standard rims. He reckons the biggest cooper s/t maxx I can fit is 245/75R16. That's not much bigger then stock. Does anyone know what I can fit. Couldn't seem to find much on this thread with people running no lift.
Thanks.

March 2011 SR

Brand Good Year Duratrac

Size 245/75 16

Rims CSA Jakal 16x8 (had to get new rims to go to 245 tyre.) Flares to be fitted soon as tyre wall sits out of the guard.

Lift none yet

Wear/Performance - only done 500k. More grippier that the 205 HT that were on it on the bituman. Yet to try it on the wet road or dirt. The car feels a bit 'spongy' at 120/kph and road noise is a slight increase, no need to turn the volume up on the stereo though so Im happy with that. Toss up between these and BFG so hopefully these tyres dont let me down, literally too.
