Tyre shop came back to me today with these prices/tyres.

I got 2 Inch lift and bullbar and keeping standard rims (17inch P30) so I don't think there will be any running issues.

Which one of these would some of you chaps chose?

x2 dads got the a/t on his and i have the m/t on mine. Km2 are a heaps better tyre on and off road imo. Look the part too

Where are you getting your tyres from? I have looked at getting the km2 in a 285/75/16 and there$$
310$. I was quoted around the price you got too but the cheapest I got was 310 from tyre plus with $100 cash back

2009 Toyota SR Hilux DC

TYRE SIZE: 31x105 R15

TYPE: BF Goodrich all terrain TA/KO

SUSPENSION LIFT: king spring HDDs with bilstein shocks and efs leaves about 2.8in lift

RIM SIZE: SR5 15" alloy

WEAR, PERFORMANCE ON and OFF ROAD:
have had these on for close to 25000kms now and they still look brand new probably done about 80% of their life spent on just the road, i have rotated them once, i was told to do every 10 000, but i just do it when i notice wear and tear on the outer edge which isnt the tires fault its my driving .
in the dry theyre completely reliable and the grip is phenominal, even in the wet it is pretty hard to get them spinning and when they do they dont hold it they grip up nice and quick

in sand theyre fantastic cant fault them, havent had a proper time in the mud yet so cant comment but the mud i have done theyve kept up with mickey mtz and atz which were on my mates cars.

in all honesty i can see me getting 80 000km out of these bad boys, when they do wear out though i probably will consider the km2 m/t's as i want a more agressive tread but sometime i need to realise i do mostly road driving so they might not last as long as the all terrains...

all in all totally reliable and dependable tire ... good alternative if you cant have mt's haha.

I've has these for about 65,000km and still have about 3mm left to the wear indicator. I can't fault them. Only rotated them once, and never balanced them once they were fitted to the rim.... so I've not looked after them in any way, except for tyre pressures.There is no tire damage at all...... They are getting easier to slip in the wet when pushed, but apart from that... excellent. They are getting noisier, but all tyres do when they wear down.

I wont be getting them again, but thats only due to the price. I imported these ones from the US when the exchange rate was good..... not sure I can justify it this time.

I decided to check my tyre pressure when I was at the servo tonight and they've put 50 psi in all four tyres. (Tyres were fairly cold, only drove about 1km that day before I checked them)

Ive never heard of anyone putting this much in.. especially tyre fitters.
Should I take some out and run what I used to? ~38 - 42psi.

Yep 50 PSI in a LT Tyre at that size on a Hilux is way too high - your truck is not heavy enough to get the best out of the tyre at that PSI. With my combination Im having to run 32 PSI to get my tyre contact patch correct.

38 PSI is getting closer to where it should be but there are many variables!

Tyre size
Tyre construction
Tyre on size rim
Quality Tyre gauge

The best way to get the right pressure is to chalk your tyre and look at the contact patch on the ground after you roll your truck forward. Your truck should be loaded with its normal carry weight.

On a tyre that big you should be looking for about 15mm in from the side walls of the tyre.

Also take a measurement of the tread depth at the side walls and centre of the tyre then remeasure again after 10,000 klms.

If you are getting a lot of wear on the side walls you need to go up in pressure – if you are getting a lot of wear in the centre you have too much pressure.

Yep it’s a pain to do but when you get it right you will get 100,000 klm out of some tyres.

They do appear to be starting to wear...so at a guess maybe 40K max out of them if they stay on blacktop.
Offroad...brilliant, bag out and grip everything really, really well.
Onroad...noisy (i can live with it), but handling has felt as good as the stock tyres.
They do still rub on something...maybe the flare inner, but only on nose down turns into driveways.
Economy....acceptable...have gone from an average of 10 l per 100km down to around 11.8 - 12 l per 100km
Obviously getting them turnining initially, there is a really minor feeling of power loss from stock.
Overall...I am really pleased with them

Update: tyres are approaching 60K with 99% blacktop driving. reckon There's another 5 - 10K in them...so wear for muddies these have been great. Noise is getting up there as they age...nothing a bit of radio volume wont fix.
I am 50/50 on getting the same tyre only because I want a different rim/tyre combo that doesnt wear the flare clip under compression. But again on and off-road I cant fault the tyres...plus they look good.

From reading all 12 pages of new tyres that ou all have fitted,is anybody keen to jump on and comment on how their tyres went after a year or two of fitting ?

On my sr5 I have had the big all terrain and the cooper st. Not real fussed on either one.
Looking at the mickey t.

Just interested to see how different tyres performed with Klm and if they scrubbed out on the steer

I've just put them on my 2012 SR5 but with a 2 inch lift. Rubbed on front mud flaps at full lock. Plenty of people run them with no lift, just find a good alignment place
