With enough grinding discs and a big enough hammer, anything will fit!

Seriously though, -20 is quite a wide arc, almost guaranteed to contact the body mount at the rear of the wheel arch. +10 is the sweet spot for clearance. If you go wider, the guard, then body mount and eventually the firewall become problems (as you go further out), if you go the other way, it risks contact with suspension components.

All the finer details are available in the pages of this thread.

Hi, does anyone have pics of their clearance on 265/75/16s?

I just personally can't visualise if I'm gonna have any issues with rubbing on 33s, and I've just moved interstate so I haven't made any friends to compare with or trial tyres from yet :(

As far as my measurements go, my center of wheel hub to bottom of flare is 560 mm. Here's a pic, no idea what has been done as far as cutting or bashing cause again.. I've got nothing to compare to and don't know what a stock one looks like.

What rims will you be running?

I had 265/75/16 BFG KM2 on patrol steel rims which only just rubbed the mud flap on weird turning occasions.

The cleared everywhere else.

Hmm no idea... Are 265/75/16's considered legal? I think they're off by a few mm from being legal right? If not I might keep my current ones for if I ever need a RWC (recently moved to QLD but still on VIC Rego...)

In that case will run whatever I need to for a good fit.

Otherwise would use the current rims depending on their offset. Haven't changed wheels since buying the car so not sure what they are.

265/75/16 is nominally just under 32", not 33"

I know, but I'm asking incase they are worth keeping as a RWC passable spare.

It depends on what your stock tyre size is? You can go 50mm diameter increase on that (depending on which state you are in, lift etc etc etc).

Yeah true, was a silly question, for some reason I always think to myself, if I have only 2 inches of lift and 2 inch bigger wheels the boys in blue won't bother me. Maybe just feel like the car doesn't feel overly illegal that way but still is

I have the same setup and no rubbing. Had this setup for a few yrs now. Would like to fit the alloys from the series 3 GU but they interfere with the calliper on the front. Does anyone know if they fit over the 319mm disc and calliper?

I need some suggestions regarding tire pressures, I'm currently running BF Goodrich KM3's 285/17r18 on my 2018 Hilux Sr5. Currently running 35Psi all round but I'm not sure exactly how much PSI is good for highways driving and off-roading on dirt tracks
Any suggestions ?

All depends how much weight you are travelling with
The 4 psi rule is a good one to look up

35-45 psi should be fine on highway depending on your load and comfort needs
I run the below with my 285/75/16 BFGs
32-38psi off road depending on terrain and load
20-25psi on packed sand down to 16 if needed. addit: down to 10 if bogging down in loose sands

Carry tyre pressure conversation on here:

G'day All,

so my 285/75's are on my 2003 dual cab lux and are working well.....

i'm just a bit nervous about my CV angles, are these angles to steep ? (yes i'm aware i'm sitting on my bumpstops, i have ball joint spacers going in tomorrow)

Hi guys,
I am running 265/70/17's and am looking at upgrading to 285/70/17's, but I'm having bugger all luck in figuring out if they will fit and clear on +20 rims (17X8 6/139.7 20 106.1). I'm running a 3" lift with Blackhawk UCA's and diff drop etc etc so hopefully all good there.

This in on a 2017 N80.

Cheers,

Denso

It will be close.. it will scrub the sway bar and UCA etc on full lock which tolerable scrub IMO. The advantage of P20 is you may scrub the mud guard less. Moving the LCA forward will reduce this.

It will largely depend on which brand of tyre you go for though, as the sizing is different between brands.

That does look a bit steep to me, but I don't really have a comparison to go by, you should probably re-post this in the Gen 6 section.

Just wanted to add to this thread on my finds.

I have just mounted 285/70 r17 on my Hilux, wheel specs are 17x8 with an +15 offset.
I’m running a 2” lift, but front springs have sagged.
I was able to get away with only modifying the bumper and splash guards.
It clears the BM by 5mm on full lock!
Had I gone with a 0 offset i would have had to BM chop.

Hope this may help others on their search[emoji4]
