265x75x16 tyres on Hilux

Need something to get you rolling?

Hey guys,

I must say I'm starting to get confused - ive been told by a couple of big tyre/rim suppliers that you cant fit a 16" rim to a 2013 SR Hilux as they have changed the brake calliper size. Reading on this forum however it would appear that people are putting 16" rims on 2013 luxs?

I'm keen to put a set of BF Goodridge mud tyres on and was hoping to use a 16" tyre rather then a a 17" rim.

Any advice would be sweeet

Cheers

what size can be fitted to a standard height lux before the lift... can't afford both at once and tyres are are a bit of a safety concern at the minute

Hi,
Ok so here is what I've learnt about fitting 16" rims to a 2013 Hilux.

If it's stamped with a 16" run size they do fit but only just enough clearance around the front brake calipers.

I think the confusing starts depending on which country they come out of??

I got my rims and tyres through bob Jane they did a good deal on a set of 5 and sold 17@ rims and tyres for $500 ;)

Cheers

I've just fit 265/75r16 KM2's. Had a set of GU steel rims freshly powder coated and ready to go. Didn't fit (mines an 07 and I got the idea off a mate who's running those rims but his is 2013). these are for sale if anyone's interested. So bought a set of black sunnies on the spot. Have a monster rides stage 2 kit. Have rubbing when slightly turning. They said that's as far forward as they could go with out rubbing on the front. The only rub under braking and turning. Went to land cruiser on the weekend and man did they cop a hiding. Running the lower pressures allowed the car to move forward even further under braking and turning to the pointing that ive have sliced up a section of the blocks where the tread has made contact with the folds of the body which I have exposed from cutting away the guard. Am not happy....... :(

where would I check to see what run size is stamped? I know they came out with those poxy 15s but I replaced with the 16" Prado replicas, speedy is the brand I think, with dueler at's. thunk there 265.70.16 from memory but I reckon there's enough room for a little bigger or should I just hang out until I can lift her? even so, with2" lift, what can be fit without dramas then?

Hi guys, i'm new here.
I've read all your comments and most of you have either a lift kit mounted or you've had to do some things with the cars to make the tires fit.
I have a Hilux -08 and i recently bought a OME suspension kit. It's not a lift kit but i think the new suspension will make the car 35 mm higher in the front and 50 mm higher at the rear.
Can i go for 265/75-16 or should i buy 265/70-16?

hey peeps,
just got a 2" lift on my 06 sr5, and currently have 16x8 0 offset, and have taken out the front mud flaps.
my question is will i have issues if i get 16x8 -22 offset with 265/75/16 cooper at3 (tires i have alteady) i just don't like the American racing baja wheels, dont like the lip, going for steelies.

I have 17x8 with a 20mm off set running 285x65x17's and as long as you have flares you should be alright. No issues with clearance - but haven't tried extreme articulation yet.....

Hi guys, I 16x8 mickey Thompson sidebiter 2 wheels 0 offset with 265/70/16 Togo all terrains and no lift. I did have to trim my mud flaps however. I am now planning on installing an OME lift and 265/75/16 rubber and I would like to know if I would have any scrubbing issues. My front bumped is stock.

Hi Guys,

After a few hours of trawling through this forum i can't seem find a definitive answer to my query regarding rim offset.
I have a 2011 SR Duel Cab trayback that I've just put a 2" OME lift under. I've decided on a set of 265x75x16 KO2's on 16x7 Sunraysia rims. As I don't have flares, I was wondering if I go with a +20 offset will the tyres be within the wheel arch or do I need to go with a +30 offset so they don't stick outside the guards?

Cheers, Oaks.

Would have loved to put some flares on it but I've already got a set of ARB scrub bars... no room.

Mite have to look into rubber ones then. Most 265 will stick out a litte even on +30(stock) offset. Problem is the tyre will contack the uca.
