OK guys

Ive got the 2009 SR hilux with a 2inch lift looking for a Tyre upgrade to 265/75/16 Goodyear wrangler duratrac i already have a set of 16x7" dynamic rims with +28 offset. my question is will this be OK to fit on the car without scrubbing or do i just go by some 16x8" with a zero offset that everyone has been talking about?

cheers

bridgo, yes that size tyre should fit on a +28.

it is the equiv of a 265/70/17 on an SR5 +30 rim (this size fits fine with a 2" lift).

Im running 265 x 75 R16 Wrangler Duratracs on a 16 x 7 +28 offset rim with a 2 inch lift.. Scrubbed twice on hard compression on full lock over a full day of pretty serious tracks. Nothing to worry about.

Hi Guys,
First post here though I've been doing a lot of reading over the last few weeks, and I'm still a bit confused regarding tire & wheel options.

I've got a completely stock 2011 dualcab SR and I'm looking at new rubber and new wheels.
I will be putting flares on it very soon but it doesn't have a lift...

I've been looking at duratracs in a 265x75 and ideally - I'd like to put them on a set of MT Sidbiter's in 16x8's though the rims are a 0 offset.
http://www.mickeythompsontires.com.au/index.php?page=Sidebiter

What issues if any will I encounter doing that if i've got flares. Scrubbing at full lock? Width outside guards? Upper control arm?

A second option on rims are the Crossfire - Rambo's - They look similar to the MT's but come in a +20 in the 16x8.
Would this be a better option?

I've phoned a few different tire shops and get different advice from each of them. figured a post here would sort things out for properly.

Any/all help is appreciated.

Cheers.

29" v's 31"
The hilux has always had smaller wheels
Where as the cruzer has always had 31

Smaller engine, smaller diff, smaller cv and tail shaft
Hence smaller wheels
farting is alot like jxxxxxg off. both provide instant gratification, but neither is a long term solution to the actual problem......................

im not 100% sure, but i thought the biggest you could get on the stock rim is a 225/75? thats what i had on my stock rims and the bloke i bought it off said thats the widest tyre the shop would fit to the stock rims.
if you just give your local tyre shop and tell them you have a set of stock hilux wheels (16x6 is what size they are) and ask what the widest tyre they can fit to that size rim, they would be able to tell you straight away.

I also wanted to get some sunraysia rims too. Maybe I should get the rims first then see what size tyres to fit them? But not sure what's the biggest rim size I can put on.

i have 16x8 with a +10 offset with 285/75's on them. but i also have a 2" lift. i think you can run 265/75 on a 16x7 rim with a +20 offset with only having to remove your front mud flaps with no lift.
are you planning on putting a lift in at all or just leaving it stock height?

I'm not sure if my is at the stock height or has been lifted by the previous owner.

Take a quick look at the front dupe soon struts. If they are all black, more then likely will be stock. I have never seen aftermarket suspension in black, haha
