17x9 Offset to match flares

Hey folks,

Read through a lot of posts similar to this regarding similar things...

However;

Got the SR5 flares on my rig and I’m looking for some info on what offset to go with to sit flush with the flares. The rims I’m looking at (Fuel Shok’s) are 17x9 and come in a +1 or +20. Has anyone got the same rims / same size rims and if so what offset are they and where do they sit in relation to the flares?? Bit worried the +1 will sit out too far as they exceed the +25mm track width we’re allowed to go by law here in QLD, but also worried that the +20 will be tucked in too much.

Any help would be great

Cheers

Hey!

Not sure if this may help.

I ran 17x9 with +12offset, tires were 265/70/17. They had exact fitment as 17x8 0 offsett and same tire size.

Both set had the sidewall of the tire stick out about 10-15mm from the original SR5 flares.
Will see if i can find a photo for you with both setups.

The original 17x7.5 fitted to 2008/9 TRD, 2011 SR5 diesel and 2012 on are 30P. With 265/65/17 on my 2011 when you look straight down you can see all the rubber hairs sticking out off the tyres. So with 9” rims with the same offset I wouldn’t be going too much less offset than 20P which will also keep it within your 25mm track change plus probably see the sidewalls outside the top of the flares. This would sit the 9” rim edge 9mm closer to the UCA and 29mm further outwards than the 17x7.5 30P. Unless your car was standard with 265/65/17 or the SR equivalent the 265/70/17 won’t be legal either - 265/65/17 are really the largest size on the small rotor (298mm) Hilux.

What tyres will you run?

Perhaps check the 33in and 32in threads. P10 is what I run.
