Need Help with offset

Postby Benno244 on Tue, 30 Apr 2019 11:01 +0000

Hey all I have a 2012 sr with flares, just got a 3 inch lift with a diff drop from superior engineering. Unfortunatley i have my heart set on the fuel vapour 17x9 wheels. they come in +1,+20 and -12 offset. Just wondering what offset i should get if anyone had any idea? Cheers

I'd be going for the +1. Most guys with 8inch rims go for 0 or +10. Ya may get a little scrubbing depending on tyre size.

Considering the original 17x7.5 are 30P you can’t fit anything that will change your track my more than 25mm meaning the absolute minimum you can fit is 17.5P which will push the tyre centre outward by 12.5mm each side. So 20P is the only one you can fit. Not sure how this will work with clearances though, but if you stick to legal tyre sizes it might. I imagine you may still get some scrubbing on the outside of the tyres at full lock though.

+10 gives you the best turning radius for bigger tyres, 0 puts an 8" rim right in line with the flares, so out of those +1 would be the best option, even though you might need to extend your flares slightly.

+20 with larger tyres will interfere with your suspension, -12 will hang way too far out and put a lot of strain on bearings, and be next to impossible to clear the full steering lock.
