Interesting that they like to use leaves. If I do mine i'll be using coils.

i was thinking exactly the same thing, is it easier using leaves? every aussie conversion i've seen have been to coils

Leaves I beleive is abit easier and cheaper....you can get them to work well, but the fact that all aussie conversions have been coils would have more to do with legalities I beleive than anything else......

coils are more expensive, but work better. That being said, if you did it right with leaves I dont see how an engineer should give you hassles.... as long as everything else is ok....(i.e not too high, too wide, speedo correct, tyres not too big etc)

While they all look cool imo they are way to high although given most of their terrain is mud it may suit. 8-)

Guys,

I'd like to apoligise for hijacking this thread about fitting 35" tyres for putting in a barage of SAS's Hilux Pics from Thailand.....

I have/will remove them and have put together a dedicated SAS Thread in the drivetrain section dedicated to all things SAS on current generation Hilux that myself and others can contribute to and leave this thread to the fitting 35's topic.

SAS topic here - http://www.newhilux.net/phpbb/viewtopic.php?f=12&t=4478

Just thought I'd touch base here for those that are still interested in pushing the envelope.......

Here (below) I have a picture of a current tacoma owner and what he has needed to do to make 35's fit on his rig with only a 3" suspension lift.

-Remove front flares
-Trim lower quarter panel
-Remove inner guard Liner
-Bash pinchweld as flat as can be
-Vigorously trim the bodymount (which hasnt been plated yet)

And this is his truck -

Oxman....wheres that DVD?
