The Age Old Question - What Offset!?

Postby JNYKAY on Wed, 21 Dec 2016 6:54 +0000

Hey Guys,

I know there is a lot of topics about wheel offsets already, but i just cant seem to find an answer for my scenario...

I have in my possession a set of rims from my old car (Hilux Surf 91, loved the beast), those rims are ROH Trak 2 15x8 with a +10 offset and as far as i can tell you cant buy these exact steelies anymore.
What i was hoping to get an answer for is will these be functional wheels for my SR5 09 Lux? no break rub.. etc etc
The Lux already has 15" alloys, so the plan was to simply swap the tyres over.
Ive dry fitted the wheel and it all looks good, but i thought i would just ask the question and see if anyone has had some issues with it?

Cheers in advance!

You'll be fine mate. Only trouble you may run into is the tyre rubbing on stuff (uca etc) but this depends on tyre width.

Cheers mate

Running BFG 31/10.5 R15s as far as I could tell, from all the reading Ive done about it, they would work.

Topic moved to the correct forum.

+10 offset is fine, every second offset topic says this. Anywhere from zero to +20 will run a 32"tyre or less.

Thanks Rod,

I seem to keep on finding different opinions in regards to the offset of the wheels.
Just thought asking the question would put my mind at ease before swapping them over this xmas break!
Thanks Heaps Guys!

Cheers,
John

Running ROH Trak 2, 15x8 w/ +7 offset and 33" MTs

No scrub on UCA, bit of scrub on wheel arch but trimmed it back and treated it to some mini sledge hammer love
