Toyo tyres rubbing on drivers mud gaurd ???

G'Day Guys

I just had Toyo OCs 265/65R17 120R fitted to the front of my '12 D4D.

On right hand down full lock the tyre is rubbing on drivers side mud guard !!!

I have taken them back to Gawler Cluse Bros. Tyres again today they are saying this is a common problem with Roluxes :(

The issue for me is that it only happens on drivers side.

I searched here & can find a few guys taking about over sized tires rubbing, but what about anyone with standard tyres ???

What wheels are you running as the offsett will be the issue here not the Tyres - unless you have a serious wheel alignment problem or suspension issue. Plenty of us here are running 265/65R17 with no problems at all.

I have not hacked any of wheels, lift, suspension etc. I was thinking about getting low profile tyres once for a few seconds after far too many beers.

I got the wheels aligned when I got the new toyos !!!

These are the first non standard (As in not what was on the rolux when I bought it new eg. bridgestone) tyres I have bought.

Up until a week ago I have always had the std. BS Dueler 265/65R17 on the front without any issue like rubbing on the guard.

BTW - The rolux has had a very easy life so far, I use it to get my WR450 to a spot & then use the WR to climb trees or get up on one -> http://uponone.com as required

Hey Chuss

If I was to "flex it forward" the tyres would be rubbing on the guard all of the time !!!

Was it only on the drivers side ???

so its rubbing on the back of the Plastic inner gaurd?
no biggy get the hair dryer and mould it to where you need it or start cutting...
its only a matter of time before you fit some 32s" anyway im sure...

G'Day SRD4D

Thanks for the head up, I think I might just take off the guard until the tyres wear down a bit.

I still think their is an issue with the wheel alignment because when I drive in a straight line the steering wheel is tilted towards the left - not horizontal.

I thought that wheel alignment meant to stop the 'unbalanced' steering :(

Do you have some spare 32" for me mate ???
