Well, I've taken the plunge.
After being disappointed with the 15 inch standard size wheels on me 2010 Hilux, I thought I would chase after some 17 inch Hilux rims.
Generally they are advertised as a four or singly. So after the $1200 in Sydney, $1100 in Melbourne, $1000 here, there and everywhere for four.
I thought I would try a little more local. So set of calling around some of the local wreckers. I found 5 Prado, not Hilux rims for $1200. 3 as new, 2 slightly corroded.
Gave them a good wash, four of the wheels came with bald tyres, one had an almost new Coopers AT3. 265-65-17. So I thought I would look for four other Cooper tyres, feckin hell they are expensive, I want to drive not buy gold bars. Toyo sprang to the rescue with AT2 tyres at $230, alot cheaper than the $309 for Coopers.
Purchased four, had them fitted and oh what joy, after the last few months with the Bridgestone 840 H/T, screeching at every turn, whiteline and manoeuvre. The silence while driving was fantastic.
