16x8 0 offset on a 2013 sr5 d/c hilux

Postby Sprig5y on Tue, 23 Feb 2016 12:41 +0000

Hey guys, im new here so forgive my noobness. I've searched this forum thoroughly looking to see weather it's possible to fit 16x8's on the 2013 hilux with the bigger brake calipers, some people say you can't while others say you can. I've spoken to a couple different tyre dealers as well and some say you can and others say you can't so i have no idea which is correct. I'm interested in a set of KMC Hoss 16x8's with the 0 offset that ive had my eyes on for a while and i kind of want to make sure theyre going to fit before buying them, if they do fit does anyone know how much clearance there is between the rim and caliper? If not i can only get them in a 17x9 so also just wondering weather anyone knows if a 17x9 will fit without any problems and weather its possible to fit 265/70 on a rim that wide? Any help would be greatfully appreciated!

Thanks

Stuart

Just get 17"+ rims
Why 0 offset most run +10 with that tyre dripping to a 0 will increase track by 60mm making the car not road legal
In states that have ncop you can 50mm track increase in states without 25mm
Hence why many run fj offset wheels at p13

Your rim size weather it be 16-20" will come down to what you want to do with that car
For on road use 20" will give best handeling but pore off road when run at low psi due to less side wall
If you plane on 33's down the track look at 18" not 17" as there is more tyres avaible in lower price ranges and you'll get a factory feel drive as same side wall 16/31 v's 18/33
farting is alot like jxxxxxg off. both provide instant gratification, but neither is a long term solution to the actual problem......................

I know GU patrol steelies will fit. They're a +10 offset. They're also the only ones I know of that fit. Wouldn't mind a couple of other options in 16 x 8's if anyone else can confirm fitment.

Take it to the tyre shop and see if they clear the caliper. Best option.

0 offset is the only offset that particular 16x8 rim comes in, from doing a bit of looking around on here it seems most people with 16x8's are running a 0 offset anyways. I was just curious as to weather a 16x8 will fit over the calipers, but if that offset is going to be illegal due to the track increase i'd probably prefer to stay with 17's as im not really interested in going for 33's as i don't feel like having to butcher the car ect to make them fit. In that case, would 265's even fit on a 17x9 and without looking rediculous due to the width? I had a brief look and most tyre brands list 8 or 8.5 as the max width.

Ive been trying to find the same answer can't find anything solid on here. There is definitely 16x8s that fit, ran into someone with some 16x8 dynamic rims that fit but he wasn't sure what offset, he was told by the tyre shop that fit them for some reason they fit on some and not others.

The issue is your brake upgrade, are you running Pardo rotors and callapers?
That wheels do you have on the car at the moment?

Also in the last 30days there has been atleast 2 threads with 265 questions
265 are a factory fitted size on a 2015/2016 hilux in 31" tyre with p30 offset

The hoss in 16" only comes in 0
17x9 is -12, p18 and p30
18x9 is -12, p18 and p30

My choise would be a 265/65r18 on p18 if that the wheel you like
With either 1" lift in front
Or 2" front and extended shackles in rear

But let someone else chime in with that offset or tyre size when we know what brakes you have in front and wheels at current
As I haven't owned a late model for 3 years now, and toy around with a gen 5
