Yeah Great pic.....cant see the wheel or anything behind B pillar.

I'll tell you now, you wont fit 35's with a 2" lift and have it working porperly without cutting the fenders open a few inches.

That's what he posted I basically said the same sort of thing Max. I fitted the 33 with a 2 inch lift and I know what I had to cut and still get a little scrub every now and then..

Supposedly a 2012 with 2 inch in the front to make it sit level. Fitted with 35s. The rear looks like it is higher then standard.
Bigfoot you've just done the 35s what do you think?

Thats a pre facelift model hilux, antenna is wrong, facelift SR5's come with indicators on the chrome mirrors.

Yep, I have 35s on 50mm body and 50mm suspension lift. Can't make much out of the photo, maybe a 33 but thinks its a 35?

That looks better -

But his tyres would carve up his fenders with any decent uptravel.

Ah, they look to be a 35 on a 17" rim judging by the photo. Doesn't look drivable.

He's clearly chopped the front bumper for steering, but can't see that working with any amount of flex beyond what you'd get in your average carpark.

I don't see the point of fitting 35's if you're sacrificing travel to do it... (IMO)

Yes and No Taresk.

Ive limited my uptravel only 12mm and it works. Its only very minimal amount to limit travel with.

I "just" miss the top of the inner fender on full stuff (behind/underneath the plastic fender liner)

The point and premise behind it to fit larger tyres is that, how often offroad (percentage of time whilst wheeling), do you actually use the full amount of travel?

This varies for most people given what they are comfortbale with or the harshness of terrain, or ability of vehicle.

Whilst you might not be using 100% of the travel all the time offroad, even if your only using 80% of that, you'd still benefit from the xtra ground clearance most of the time, except at the very edge of your suspension travel.

I hear what your saying Taresk, but there are pro's and cons with both ways.

I understand your point Max, and if it suits the terrain a small sacrifice does make some sense.

My thoughts were more in reference to the picture posted, unless it has been setup for about 80% droop, 20% compression, it would take very little uptravel to foul the fenders front or back.

It would be awesome if they could set it up to ride at that height with mostly droop, but i've yet to see it done (with IFS).

2" ride height with 35's would be awesome if you could clear everywhere. even if you could get fibreglass fenders, the tyre would still bottom out inside the inner guard itself.

Thats why a 33" tyre is the best compromise......if you want your shit working properly and fully.
