has anyone had both of these tyres and could tell me if there is much difference in road noise (and any other comments you could add), Im running the MT, but im considering changing over to these new AT ones if there a lot quieter on the road.

The at's are heaps quiet compared to the Mt. You also get better fuel economy

I'm running ko2 for nearly 5000k.
Silent like Ko. So heaps quiet compared to km2.
Drive same as Ko.
Just looks better.
They say they will last longer offroad, 100% longer
More side protection.

Last check on some Ko, they can last a long time. 0.9mm per 23,000k on the last set I monitored on a 2014 Prado. Went from 11.8 ( new) to 10mm in 46,000k. Car had done 48k, they went in at 2000k.
That 4 tyre rotation only once at about 25,000.

The K02 is not to be confused with a KM2 mud terrain or the original TA KO allterrain.

I have BF (KO) AT's and would never buy them again. Only 20,000km on them (running correct pressures for terrain /roadsurface) and they have lost tread blocks and chipped and nicked a ridiculous amount. The sidewalls also cut very easily.

Have to agree with GB.
Either the old BFG All-Terrain T/A's aren't suited to tropical climates or they keep sending shite stock up to the top end.
We have a small fleet of Prados at work that have the old BFG AT T/A's on them - they only last 20-30,000km regularly running the Tanami and Duncan roads among others. Gone thru 2 sets each year - tyre dealer very happy

My partner bought her BFG K0's about 1 month before the new K02's were released. She got 245/70/17's.
I waited until release date last year and got a set of 285/75/17 K02's.

We both hit the Gibb River road in out own lux's - her tyres started to shred on the first day...



Rear tyres first to get cut up. Had to plug a couple sidewall tears up with sealant.
Approx 1500km on the Gibb + side tracks. Some slow bolder/rock crawling, sand + sharp shale/rock at 70/90km/h.

Compared to the T/A K02's:


Not a scratch
Admittedly these are larger tyres and have only done 2000km total - for track use
Partner looked at my tyres and turned a little green after the first day

At the end of the trip the older T/A KO model had side wall cuts and tread chunks missing on each tyre.
Owner not happy - looking at K02's with envy/regret

The KO2's?.... no cuts, no chipping
Agree with others here - they are highway quiet too
Tougher side walls, longer tread life - so far the claims stand up.

Hi all.
Have 2012 hilux 2" lift currently run BFG KO all terrains have got 65000 klm's out of them.Have been on the road for 40 months towing camper trailer and last 2 yrs 14 ft caravan. Tyre's are up for replacement would appreciate feedback on new BFG KO2's have heard good and bad reports.Tossing up betweem them and Kumho MT51 we are heading up the Gibb river road in a couple of weeks so need to do tyres asap.

i've had mine on for prob 10,000km now really like them they have a bad habit of getting stones stuck in the tread , and mine are starting to get a little noisier now were silent when i first put them on. wouldn't mind trying something more aggressive next set maybe mickey t at's or even km2's

My KO2's have just ticked over 6000km and started to get a case of the wobbles. Good as new after a wheel balance.

Mine have about 15k on em and they're still holding up pretty well. Some slight chipping and gashes but they cop a flogging a fair bit. I'll be going km2 or Baja claws next

Have had BFG KO,2 on for 10 months they have chipped badly last set of older style was much better.

I"m about 5000km's into a set of KO2's , so far so good. They're quiet, but most new AT's are. I do notice "gripping" sound when i corner, never heard that on my coopers. it sounds like you're almost doing a burnout from the rear tyres when with a moderate corner. Must just be the tread pattern.

I got 70k from my Cooper AT3 LT's and they did me well (sold with 40% left on them), so time will tell on these BFG's
