Will a 275/70r17 fit on a 2013 SR5 hilux with a OME 2inch li

Postby boobeedoobee on Mon, 23 Jun 2014 5:30 +0000

I have a 2013 sr5 dual cab with a 2inch ome lift.

What is the largest tyre I can fit.. I have searched the forum and read some threads but none seem clear as to what is the actual largest I know 265/70r17 seem to he the max but I have also been told that 275/70r17 could also fit I know that 285 won't fit but was hoping if someone could tell me if a 275 will fit?

Thanks

I think offset will play a part in it too

I have a 2 inch lift and 265 70 17 km2's on standard rims and can't fit my finger between the tyre and upper control arm. So unless you get different offset wheels, after market upper control arms or skinny 275's I reckon your asking for trouble.

I actually have paint missing from my upper control arms but I think it is just sandblasting from the beach.

Edit; you posted you have 0 offset while I was writing this post. I would give it a go then.

I have 2010 sr with 2inch ome kit, got black steelies with +10 offset and 31/10.5/r15 heaps of room from standard control arms even whilst flexing, will get 32 inch next time for sure. Offset does stick out without flares n some. Ive done no trimming, but I would with 275 or 32s

A 27570/17 is a 32" tyre so all your answers are in here. viewtopic.php?f=27&t=11217

No, it's rubbing under compression. I have the same tyres (brand and size) with standard rims and she rubs allright

I have looked when fully up and fully down and turned in all positions and it wasn't touching, but I haven't looked when doing 100kmh around a bend into a unexpected washout.... So maybe. Certainly no marks at all on the tyres after much off-roading so it couldn't be much.

I put a set of CSA jackal rims 17x8 with Yokahama's 17.265.65 on stock vehicle and they don't rub. But it is tight.

Anything bigger and I think you will be having some dramas.

Anyone know if MRs extended ball joints would allow 275/70/17 with stock p30 alloys and 2"? Thanks

275 is too wide for stock alloys. and you'll prob struggle on just a 2" lift
