OK, so Walhalla report on tyres...2 off us running them. Loose dirt, rocks and shale...no mud. Steep descents and steeeeeeep climbs...brilliant. Need to air them down a little more to get visible bagging. But ran mine at 23 and good as gold. No slipping, great traction...fantastic for road noise getting to and from also. Hope to hit some mud in the next month or so.

Hey all,

Looking at the Mickey Thompson tyres ATZ P3 265x70x17's.

Anyone have these on their truck? Have read good things about them..

Any thoughts would be great.

Cheers Dave

Don't personally have them but a few mates have had them and are happy enough with them. I am putting a set on my hilux when my current BF's wear out, look like the best option on the market for me, just a bit expensive.

Hey Dave, yeh man, I've currently got them and they are fantastic. I used to have MTZ and so far am not noticing too much difference off-road. On road they are much quieter than the MTZ.

Just replaced my P3s. Cant say i was overly impressed about them over the old atz 4 rib. They never gave me a drama except when i punched a 4 inch steel spike through a block but no tyre would hold up to it at full pressure. Wear was all over the place all 4 tyres are at different stages unfortunately. Do cut up quickly on the stones towards the end of their life. They had a hard life with alot of gravel and got 55,000km outta them.

So, I ended up getting the new Deegans 38. 265x70x17.

Firstly great looking tire, very aggressive side wall and a cross between ATZ & MTZ so they still a 50% road 50% dirt tire just more aggressive than the ATZ

Had a little problem with them hitting the front guard, only the left hand side was hitting on full lock. Nothing a little guard mod didn't fix.

So overall very happy, they are a little noisy at around 80 kph but not too bad at 100 kph..
