3" lift would suit a 33" tyre, if that's what you're after.

Those Mickey Thompson Sidebiter's look the best, not sure i could bring myself to trash them

Im running 17x8 +10 offset 33's bfg, with trimming and bashing.with some more bending to go.

How much did you end up trimming Sam75?

I'm running KMC Hoss, 17 x 9's P18 offset, with 32 inch muddies. no trimming required, just remove mud flaps on the front.

I've previously bought sunrasias for a hilux I used to own and had the bliss of not knowing or caring about the strength of the wheel beyond the local tyre shop bloke recommending them.

Now that I'm older and dumber I've wondered how to go about buying wheels legally and liability free.
ADRs uses 112 as a load and S as a speed rating for the SR5, do any wheel manufacturers do likewise?

Obviously manufacturers like Mickey Thompson and the like manufacture wheels that are probably far superior to factory fit but do any comply with the ADRs?

One could get over having the insurance company deny a write off claim, but I would imagine the results would be considerably worse in the unlikely event you slipped of the wet road and into the local preschool/kindergarten.

15x7 +20 sunnies with 32s and a set of 16x8 +10 patrol rims for the 33s. the patrol rims have 32s on them at the moment. I'll replace them soon with 33inch mudhogs or similar.

Very very nice BFjr. I wanted a set of The Standard but they are not available in a positive offset yet for the 17x8.5. Race Wheels Australia have said Method are looking at making them in the future so as soon as they do the Hilux will be wearing a set as well. Probably 1 of the nicest looking wheels around at the moment I reckon. Looking forward to seeing them on your rig mate.

After some running around and sourcing, i've managed to land myself a set of ROH Blaktrak 2's (15x8) w/ +7 offset paired with 31" Cooper STT - photos coming soon for anyone curious to see how they sit.

Note, running stock suspension - scrubbing like a mofo on full lock. DYING to get my MR kit is an understatement.

I wouldn't be too quick to come to that conclusion. The build quality of OEM steel wheels on Toyotas is pretty good and better than many aftermarket ones that I have looked at.

I don't have an opinion on strength, but if you hit anything hard enough to bend one, you would most likely bend the other.
