Step by step would be good, I have one on the front as well

Just ordered 12 new studs n nuts from toyota for the two front wheels
Trade price $110 for all of them
Hopefully putting them in this weekend

Looking at 35-40bux from memory.

Ive always just hammered them Max. Does this SST flip over and push a new one in and would it suit a few different cars? It's sometimes hard to get in behind them to hit the new one in as I'm sure you're aware.

I never hit the new ones in.

I put a cuple washers over the top then use the wheel nut and tighten whilst holding the hub.

That pulls it into position.then remove the nut and washers obviously.

Yes it can be used on other vehicles as long as the wheels studs are roughly a similar length.

Its handy to have in your toolkit.

Ok thanks. I've used your technique plenty of times too. I prefer to have a sacrificial nut though which isn't always easy.

A rattle gun makes pulling the stud in a lot easier.

its not that expensive, i carry one in my toolbox all the time with a couple spare studs for front and back (they are both different lengths)

would you know the code of the sst tool ?
toyota doesn't know what I'm talking about I must be explaining it wrong

Just saw the post.

place the side with the bolt head facing outside the stud. with the other end on the rear of the axle hub.

base of the bolt should be resting against the outer edge of the wheel stud.

Get a spanner or rachet/socket and and start tighting up the bolt on the SST.

As the bolt tightens it moves forward and presses out the wheel stud from the rear.

Put all new wheel studs In the front it was really easy

I couldn't take the rotor off using bolts in the two holes as they were rock hard on from going through salt water a bit

All I did was after I took the brakes off the rotor, I put a nut and bolt through we're the top bolt was to hold the brakes on, then you tighten the bolt up while holding the nut with a spanner and then youll hear the rotor pop off and then you can access the old studs
I had the sst used it once, I preferred to use a hammer
After you take the old studs out you can put the new ones in best way I think is to put the stud in and get a bigger bolt and tighten the wheel nut up to pull the stud up tight
After you'v done them all its time to put the rotor back on and them the brakes, after that's all done up put the wheels back on and take it for a drive up the road and back. Make sure you double check the nuts again incase there a bit lose.

I hope that helps you's out just be careful if you's use a jack in the middle of the crossmember as mine slipped off and broke two axle stands only bad thing about having 33, I ended up using a high lift jack but didn't move the car around as much

Has anybody had any luck finding extended thread studs lately?

I've combed through niceproducts range but everything that suits is on back order.

i've got 15x7 dynamic steels with a 4mm spacer on the front to clear the brakes ('07 SR5 2WD 5 STUD)

i've had this wheel combo for a couple years and no issues so far but i'd prefer to run longer studs now for peace of mind.

stock ones are 40mm, minimum i'd like would be 50mm, any longer is a bonus.
