The BFG A/T won't rub but the KM2 will rub. Only a small amount on full lock. Going to try the hairdryer on the mudflaps next break and bend them back a little to stop the lugs catching.

I have just put Fj rims with 265/70/17 tyres they came with (stock).
These rub at full lock and going up driveways etc. Only on the mud guard and only slightly but they rub.
They look good and the speedo is now bang on. Hopefully the rubbing stops when I get my MR suspension as the tyres will be going to 285 or even 305.

Are the FJ rims the same offset as the '05-'11 or the current model SR5 rims?
I too still need a definitive answer if Bridgestone 265/70/R17 and a 2" OME lift will allow rubbing or not with this size ('05-'11) rim.

The local Bridgestone shop says the current model 265/70/r17 is end of production and have run out. They are currently waiting for the new version to arrive. So as I want tyres soonish.... Do I get current model 265/65/R17 or wait for the 265/70/R17 when they land? Will be spewing if I wait to only find they still rub after all the wait.

With a 2" lift, you will fit 265/70/r17 fine. No problems rubbing anywhere.

I run a MT ATZ 4 rib 265/70/17 on 150 series prado rim with a 2" lift and it doesn't rub any where

Cool cheers. As previously said, they are out of current stock of the Bridgestone 265/70/R17 but said come down anyway to see if I'm happy with 265/65/R17 or another brand in 265/70/R17. Are the any brands people prefer or believe are better than Bridgestone?

I've read a lot about 265/70/R17 actually making the speedo a but more accurate than the generic shop floor 265/65/R17. Any truth to that?

Totally depends on what you are going to be doing mate. In saying that you open up another can of worms as everyone has their preference and brand loyalty. I will start with talking up BFG. Had the KM2 on last Hilux with a good mix of surfaces ( 1 good Cape York Trip )and got 70k out of them with another 10k easy. Was a no brainer this time around and went them again.

My god Bridgestone 265/70R17 is proving hard to find in Perth! Most are saying the old stock has run out but the new run hasn't hit the shores or something... Every one says they're out.... Isn't this a common Prado size? What if a Prado needed a new tyre..... Buy a new car?

Anyone got a lead for these in Perth?

buy them online, some of the Sydney shops sell via ebay

btw, the general rule with 265/70/17 (31.7") is you need a 2" lift

FJ rim is +15
Prado rim is +20

Yeah Sydney might be a bit of a stretch unless they ship for free.
What offset is the SR5 Hilux rim for my information?
