Tempe Tyres - Sydney

Postby hoodlux on Fri, 08 Feb 2013 5:57 +0000

G'day

A question for all the Sydneyites...

Has anyone had dealings with Tempe Tyres?

Whilst researching tyre prices, I stumbled across both their website and eBay store. Their prices are nearly $100 cheaper than prices I can get anywhere on the Sunshine coast - per tyre!

http://www.ebay.com.au/itm/265-75-16-26 ... 2a2818c2c1

http://www.tempetyres.com.au/

Would love to hear any feedback from people who have dealt with these guys, both online and instore.

Thanks in advance
Jamie

Gday Jamie I'm from WA. Bout 2 hours south of Perth. I bought 4 bfg km2s tyres delivered to my front door, for cheaper than what I could get them locally. I also got them fitted and balanced and I was still ahead. That was from there Ebay store. Cheers gumby

hey mate,

i bought tyres from st george tyres in sydney, tempe and st george are apparently owned by the same family / family members.

i also got 5 bfgs, 5 steelies, fitted & balanced and shipped to rocky for cheaper than i could get locally by about $600 all up (even with a $250 slug for shipping).

and the tyres and fresh too, not old, i checked the date on mine and it was 18th week in 2012.

it cost me $2100 for 5x bfg AT 265/70/16, 5x 16" sunnies, fitted balanced, freight to rocky. so that = $420 each, local people wanted 420 just for the damn tyre

I've used them before, at their shop cause Im a Sydney sider. Found them to be pretty good. Do your homework get your prices then just haggle with them. I had no issues with their quality.

Just make sure there not imported out of date stock.Believe it or tyres have an expire date, there was a heap of old Coopers floating around last year at discount tyre shops.

Tempe, Pay cash and haggle with them mate, walk in there knowing a price you want to want and give yourself a certain amount to go over it. Have a chat to them, introduce yourself and go from there, if you can ask to deal with Sam, he is the manager and who I delt with. Awesome bloke and gave me a deal I couldn't walk away from when I bought my 33" km's and chrome alloys.
I would be going there again without a doubt, but if you don't need them In a hurry get a price overseas and freighted over!

Tempe are also a large wholesale for many different tyre shops and brands throughout Sydney... so they can usually get pretty good prices as long as your willing to travel

They also manufacture rims and they now own and make Simmons wheels.

Guys we just have to watch the name and shame issues here and the unlikely but possible consequences that may have. :D
